Providence played their way in tonight.
Nova, Creighton, Xavier, Providence
I'm also glad 2 legacy teams made it. That would have been embarrassing if Nova was the only one
Been a decade since Providence made it, before we joined the conference. Nice to see them finally have some success. Cooley has done a nice job since taking over, and Cotton and Batts deserve to end their careers in the NCAA tournament. Providence and Creighton split in the regular season, both with double digit wins at home (Creighton's coming last Saturday). Will pull for the Friars tomorrow.

A friend of mine here was Boylan's PG at UNH and now is one of the most successful secondary coaches in the state. His father coached at PC and he is a huge believer in Cooley. Glad to see him turn things around. We need for our conference mates to rise up.
Anybody but Creighton. This season has made me despise them more then any other team in college basketball not named Wisconsin and Notre Dame. Their fans at the BC really made their entire fan base look like complete pricks. Worse than Louisville fans.
Four is an immortal lock now. Was still looking like 4 teams if SHU beat Provy.

I know I'm generalizing but the middle aged men and women taunting the student section and flipping us off really left a bad taste in my mouth. Just saying. That and McFlopper whines sooo much.
Great to see 4. Wish the tournament worked out differently so it could have been 5.

Haven't experienced their fans, but don't understand the hate for Creighton. The school is similar to MU. Jesuit, probably considered a mid major, good coach, hardworking players, Senior laden. Only difference, they hit their 3's and are kicking butt--we did not.

I was at the game-----the Creighton fans are more docile than MU fans. Maybe some were obnoxious, but for the most part they are a great fan base.

I am shocked to hear this. I have t had any interactions with Creighton fans, but I just find it hard to believe this is an accurate reflection of their fan base. If it is, I really worry about how others are perceiving our fans.

+1. I had a similar experience with them at the BC, also don't care for the amount of whining McDermott does

Had two very similar incidents at the BC with big groups of Creighton fans....I wouldn't hate them more than Louisville but they definitely left me wanting especially since I expected them to be a friendly rival.
The flopping is ridiculous, but they are going to suck for the next two years at least so I'm not worried.
I'm headed to San Antonio for the ncaa's this week, which is where Creighton is highly likely to be assigned. Over the years, I've interacted with many other school's fans at the ncaa's, and I should be able to weigh in.

Not so sure about that. After the win PC is now "last 4 in".... I think they have a >90% chance of being in now, but if they lost to Seton Hall they would have been iffy

Obviously losing one of the best all time players in college will hurt them the next couple of years. Yet, as I watched them against Xavier - they are REALLY well coached. In my view, they'll be a lot like Wisconsin under Bo - won't have a roster full of 4 stars - but McDermott has a very distinct system and will recruit players that fit system well. Watching them play, they are REALLY hard to defend - and play solid team defense.
It did no go for PC playing SH last night. It could be a must win for Providence, as both ESPN and CBS has PC as the last for in.

If the A10 gets 5 or 6 teams in and PC doesn't get in they need to reconfigure the selection process.

Agreed. McDermott runs a tight ship. However, they are losing 4 starters including McBuckets. It will take time to rebuild. But they have a sneaky good recruiting class. McDermott has definitely upped the recruiting profile of the Blue Jays.

What's embarrassing for the Big East but impressive for them is the A10 will also get four: St. Joes, UMass, VCU, SLU.

If they're not one of the worst teams in the big east next year I will be surprised

Prior to this year, I bet you would have said that Marquette under Buzz was REALLY well coached.
I have to agree with mu03eng, Creighton will have a tough go of it for at least a couple of years. One of the best situations for good coaching to show itself is when your team is starting four seniors, one of whom is a fifth year guy.
As good as McDermott is, people forget what a truly unique talent Wragge is. Losing them both will send the elder McDermott back to the chalkboard.

Yes. Sorry. That's FIVE for the A10. That's a damn impressive number.
A-10 getting five teams is good but NBE 4 of 10 is better than A10 getting 5 of 13.
Dayton is in. A-10 gets 6 bids
The bad Creighton fans some people may have ran into were probably the ones that took a bus from Omaha to Milwaukee the day of the game and drank the entire way there. Probably just drunk out of their minds.

How ironic!! Many fans here sneered at allowing Dayton into the BEast, because the new conference was so much better than the Dayton bottom feeders. They are likely in, and we are 17-15. Oh the irony!
Anybody can look at some of the past postings.

There are a lot of bad Marquette fans on this site, who do nothing but trash our players when we lose.

I agree with McDermott being a good coach but 80% of their roster is seniors this year and there is no guarantee that he's even there after this season. With his son graduating and a lot of turnover on the roster, there is no reason he doesn't take his ball to a higher profile job. Not saying it will happen, but it's a real possibility.
Creighton will likely be fine either way but I think it's at least a year if not two before they are back to where they are now....same thing happened to Nova.

I agree I think this is going to happen, but I can find at least 5 teams that should be in before Dayton. They wouldn't even be in my first 4 out.

4/10 = 40%
5/13 = 38.5%
6/13 = 46%
I have a hard time seeing A10 get 6. But I can't say enough how impressed I am with the A10 this year. I hope it also silences anyone who objects to SLU or Dayton joining the NBE. Right now I'd take either of those programs over a Butler not led by Brad Stevens.

Someone is likely going to have to play Dayton on their home court on Tuesday. Given proximity and wher they stack up, its a pretty safe bet Xavier will be playing Tuesday as well. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see them matched up.
