They only take 32 and about 10 are filled already. We have lost 4 in a row?

I'd say 90% chance we make it. Maybe 95%
Yes.
honestly i don't think we get an invite, nor should we. oh well, anyone else excited for Ahmed Hill?!

I'm excited for Mayo du Wilson and burton.
Actually really excited for next year
I think it is questionable, but not because we lost four in a row. You have to figure they will take St. John's and Georgetown. Seton Hall is now eligible for NIT bid and if they beat Providence and lose in championship game, I would think they get an NIT bid. I am assuming that both Xavier and Providence get NCAA bids. It happens, but 4 NIT bids for a conference is a lot.

Cheese and crackers, Nate.
ONLY because of our name - we didn't earn it.

those 3 together could be nasty. no idea who the other 2 will be but...
I will be on pins and needles for NIT, but any post-season tourney will be good
I'm a little nervous. Lots of regular season champs are failing to win the auto-bid. Still think we make it though.
Burton's play tonight made me very excited for next season

Can we get the UW game after 1st semester grades are posted?
Yes. May of lost the home game.
If we get an NIT bid, I'm sure I'll watch because I'm a glutton for punishment.
If we don't get an NIT bid, I will be neither surprised nor upset.
I hope we turn down a CSI: Crime Scene Investigation bid.
Is NIT selection also on Sunday?

Yes, Fischer after December, but I have hopes that JJJ will be one of the two. 4 guard offense baby!
75-80% chance we get in. name recognition and if they could pair us up against uw-green bay at the bc. attendance attendance attendance. then you've got the mu connection with wardle, and the public vs private school thing. the nit selection committee tends to lean toward school participation/school spirit like the minor football bowls do. they use that aspect to help wean out the "bubble teams"
Two factors make me think we won't get in. First, the number of teams from the Big East that are ahead of us in the "bid line." Second is that if the game is to be played at the Al, there won't be much of a payday for theNIT and we all know it's about the money.
Not a given. If we do I expect to be on the road. Not going to be a top seed, and not offering enough dollars with a game at the Al.
Other than a few fans on this board, and maybe the team, nobody really cares about the NIT. The Dance is the Dream.
I would certainly watch.
They will obviously play a team much like us and it will make for exciting basketball.
To be honest, I probably will not watch much of the NCAA at all.
Just to correct one of the misconceptions that seems to be repeated in this thread: The NCAA now owns the NIT and no longer uses projected attendance or television ratings as factors. They aren't trying to create attractive matchups, pack houses, pick big or recognizable names, generate revenue--either from tickets or television, etc.

ok, then what is their new tournament model? is it to create the next level/tier/ratings for the ncaa? serious question because i really haven't heard about this

Just as I always suspected - money is not important to the NCAA ;D

The NCAA has owned the NIT for the last 10 years or so. And since ESPN has a half a Billion dollar contract for the NIT games, it IS about making money. It's just that ESPN no longer gets to pick the teams and matchups.
The only criteria is that teams that won conference titles, but don't get selected to the NCAA (i.e. UW-GB) are in.

I do think we'll pull the 4 guard offense early, at least until Fischer gets back. Burton can bang down low and our guards are athletic enough to rebound. I'm hoping for the below lineups, but afraid we'll see Juan and De Wilson take up 2 of those spots.

Barring injury, I'll bet Duane Wilson starts or gets the majority of minutes by conference play.

Hope the Warriors can hang in Assembly Hall.

Well, the reasonable will recognize the game for what it is: a glorified exhibition.
But yes, the board will turn into the overboard. Because that's what we do.
From my brief research, it appears there are four postseason tournaments.

Can you imagine if MU is the victor? Either way, there will be people here that will have voodoo dolls out, sharp knives locked away for their own good and the dosage on the meds exceeding doctor recommendations.
I'm not convinced IU makes the NIT, by the way. I think MU is in no doubt.

In the NCAAs, cheering for KU, the only one of the alma maters that figured it out to get to the big dance, though they have upset written all over them. Some others interests like anyone taking on Wisconsin-madison will get staunch support. SLU because of Rick.
