Title: Season in a nut shell
Post by: NotAnAlum on March 13, 2014, 10:54:25 PM
Derrick gets hurt on a hard foul and can't take the free throws
X gets to choose the shooter and they choose who?
Our Senior Leader.  The most talented guy on the team.
And Jamil promptly misses 2 free throws that weren't even close.

Those misses were huge....huge.  No reason Burton shouldn't have gotten 15 of the available 20 minutes in 2nd half...

Jake was invisible today.  Derrick played his usual game..better than the last 3 at least.

Bright spots:  Mayo and Burton are two huge building blocks for next year....but we will miss the hell out of Davante.

They were smart picked the most mentally weak guy on team

That said it all. Also, to put the cap on it was another idiotic timeout from buzz. In transition and a wide open three or drive to lane and buzz burns his last timeout. Keep in mind that this is a team that cannot inbound the ball.

I hate to say this, but you are absolutely correct.

I was deeply disappointed by all the seniors today. Did Jake even attempt a shot?

Yeah, hit one three in the first half.  But, they had him blanketed otherwise.  I understand keeping him as a decoy and to keep one less guy from helping on D, but at some point, you gotta pull him out if he can't contribute at all on offense.

Jamil is a friendly guy.  Probably great at parties.  But honestly we will be better off without him

I won't miss the seniors - except Davante

On the court, that is.

I think he attempted 2 shots.  Xavier played him tight and did not allow him much spacing.

Extremely tight.  This opens up the lane for Mayo and company.  I'm not really mad that Thomas plays so much

We'll miss DG, but I won't miss the attendant drama on the court.

I know Thomas and Derrick did not provide much offense, but I do not remember either of them making a stupid play tonight. Mayo and Jamil had a few stupid turnovers.

So what? I don't remember them making any good plays either (in 65 minutes)

I like to think we can do a lot better than Jamil and Jake.

Even Davante started wearing on me, which I admit is probably more a commentary on me than him.

I appreciate Jamil's 3s against Davidson and Davante's many contributions, but I'm ready to move on.

Give me a break. Thomas and D Wilson had 5 points between them. Pitiful. Todd mayo kept us in the game. The starting back court belongs in D-2. Sure Mayo had some mistakes, but i will take that than JT afraid to shoot any day.
