Title: did MU drop the ball with d.j.??
Post by: rocket surgeon on March 06, 2014, 03:36:16 PM
http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/blog/the_dagger/post/Did-Marquette-put-winning-before-ethics-by-cutti?urn=ncaab,252690

pardon me if this topic has been beat to death as i'm kind of new here and don't follow every day, but where would we be if we would have honored d.j. newbill's commitment to marquette?  he has one more year with peen state, if he stays/turns pro.  i really don't know where he is in his development or the nba's interest yet, but as i have seen him play a little bit and noticed his stats.  since he has transferred from ole miss. to penn state, he has avg'd over 16 ppg and over 5 rebounds per game.  6'4" point guard=deron williams-wow!  did we make a mistake there considering where we are regarding point guards, leadership, etc. oh to answer my question-i beleve so, I have a toothache?

Some guys are on this site daily.... and then some.

They are really not too welcoming to the casual fan. They wanna talk to other 'experts' like themselves.

As for Newbill, he is not on the NBA radar this year. and I'd be surprised if he is next. Best player on a bad team, but not a top NBA prospect-type talent.

Wow, if that's a shot at me, I apologize.  Not sure what I did to deserve that.  Just trying to direct the discussion on the same topic all to one place.  I think it's pretty obvious that I'm not an expert, nor do I pretend to be.  Just a fan.

no apologies needed for me slacker-appreciate you alerting me to the topic as originally discussed.  as i said, in the beginning, wasn't sure if d.j. was talked about recently and once you showed that site to me, i thought all was over.  it was for me anyway

No, it wasn't a shot at you in any way. I apologize if it read that way.
