... why would you even try? It's a team sport, and while you can pinpoint certain instances where an MU player has faltered this season, those players have also had moments that have lifted the team as well. As a team, you grind together, you shine together, and if you don't grind, you pine together.
It's been said, and I agree 100% at this point that the problem is that these guys have been wired under Buzz to embrace an underdog mentality and when they go into a year being the favorite, they completely lose their identity and become vulnerable. Even last night... it almost seemed like MU went into and played the game expecting to win, not wanting to win. Like most of the games this year, MU hasn't been the most talented team on the court during tournament play the past few years, but they advanced to the 2nd weekend simply because they worked harder and wanted it more.
So if there's one thing that has to be absolutely clear to each and every member of the team now... they are the underdog, and they are going to be playing teams from here on out that know deep down they can beat MU. MU needs to walk into the Garden next week with a fire in their belly stoked by the remnants of whatever expectations remain. Only then will they dance.
I'd blame me. Why not? That's what my wife does.

Get in line for that one.
I can and I will blame one person: Buzz Williams.
Teams rise together, fall together. True, but this is his team in every sense of the word, as both head coach and GM.
Trevor Mbakwe.
Tom crean
Larry Williams. If only Buzz had been allowed to recruit more JUCO's.......
Tim Maymon.
I blame myself for having some expectations. Buzz spoiled me.
Pontius Pilate
Well played Benny B. I was ready to come on here raging. Well played sir
George W. Bush
Personally I blame Canada.
Duane for getting hurt, Vander for not staying, DJ Newbill and Jeronne Maymon's dad
Oh sorry, was I only supposed to name one?
The chick who sent me a shot at the bar. Totally messed up my good luck routine. Definitely the nail in the coffin.
After this list is compiled, we should have someone set up a vote of the five most likely responsible people to determine the board's collective scapegoat for this season's misery and woes.
So far, strong candidates for the top five include:
Pontius Pilate
The chick who sent over the shot
Canada
Honorable mention: ElDonBDon for attempting to ruin this thread with an actual opinion when levity is clearly the medicine this board requires.

It is going to be quite a feat to narrow the pool of candidates to five blameworthy culprits, of which only one will be held solely responsible for this year's on court product.

Canada
The chick who sent over the shot

TJ Taylor's girlfriend
George W. Bush

Word on the street was that he had been butting heads with the gladiator squad's HC. Supposedly the administration was worried about the coach moving to UT (University of Tel Aviv). Team really seemed to lose their killer instinct that year. Got massacred a couple of times. Natives in the forum (city center) were pulling out their torches and pitchforks.
(All meant in humor. Not seriously trying to argue anything)
Wait... we forgot one. Crean for hiring Buzz. There that should be almost a universal consensus.
Ill give it a go...
Justin Bieber (Substitute for Canada)

This is why levity is such a precious commodity in this world. Just when I thought you could not be a larger buffoon as it relates to your stance on this program, you go ahead and throw out this unbelievably amazing suggestion and completely obliterate all of my pent up anger towards you. Amazing. I heart you.
A top five blame list would not be complete without Teo's imaginary girlfriend.
Steve Pederson

Ners' 30th floor crib.
Keefe skipping town for a few weeks mid season.
Dodds, Mike Jakobowski and the guy that fills in for Jakobowski when Jakobowski is doing bowling. (3 for the price of 1)

I'd blame past MU administration for not allowing Buzz to recruit a JUCO point guard when Vander left unexpectedly. Arbitrary rules for two years didn't help.

Kevin O'Neill.
If he hadn't stopped MU hoops' slide into oblivion with the Loyolas and Detroits of the world, we never would have to worry about playing against teams like tOSU, ASU, Nova, etc. We instead would have spent the year playing a bunch of games nobody cared about against a bunch of teams nobody cared about. And only a few of us old timers would care....

It didn't....they disclosed some potential impacts to their ingredients based on worse case scenarios which others decided to run with and make a stupid political statement about global warming \ (when that doesn't work out call it climate change) and they said for cost reasons in the future the avocados might have to go. Related to the drought out here and the fact that most of the nation's avocados are grown here.
Less than 24 hours later reality hit and they walked that statement back and basically said it wasn't going to happen.
