Title: Providence Effort
Post by: jesmu84 on March 05, 2014, 12:23:10 AM
A lot of people, myself included, had been disheartened by the seeming lack of effort, hustle, whatever lately that had embodied the MU teams the last few seasons. I think tonight they played balls to the wall all night long. The shining example was Mayo's dive out of bounds for the ball in the 2nd half. Excellent to see this team respond from the Nova game with that type of attitude. Makes me feel good about their mindset heading into the big east tourney.

Yes, but we're 30 games in. 30 games and the team seems lost for long stretches of each game. I think buzz will look back on this year and see he made some bad personnel decisions.

Does leave hope for Mayo next season. If he played that hard on the glass and on defense every game he could be 1st or second team all big east.

You know, I think a lot of our perceived lack of hustle is that our guys just aren't that quick/alert and just get beat to the ball, rather than lack of effort.  Both teams last night seemed to go at it hard.  Can't fault the effort at all.
