Title: Fitting Loss
Post by: Niv Berkowitz on March 04, 2014, 10:52:36 PM
That's all I have to say. Period. Book it. If we are going to find a cherry on top of this season, that last 9 seconds was it.

Guards win in college. Period.

These guys are a joke. It's sickening people defend them. Mostly Derrick.

Holy heck is he bad.

The fact that him and then Juan are back next year?

It wasn't just the last play. He was horrible for 50 min tonight.

Horrible end-of-game coaching coupled with bone-headed decisions from Jake and Derrick to end the game. Very fitting loss that sums up the season quite well. Awesome comeback and grit down the stretch from todd, only to be wasted by our fucking idiotic backcourt.

Even more fitting is that I flipped to espn right after the game ended and first thing I saw was jamail jones in the top 10.

O I am aware.

JJJ and Dawson should be pissed. You can't play when we have this Sh it product?

I just rewatched the Jake tie-up. All he had to do was take one step and pass to DW at WORST.

Also, Todd was open on a second look. Ummm, he's your best free throw shooter. Just pathetic.

I don't know what everybody is complaining about. Our starting guards combined for 7 points while holding theirs to only 40.

Yup, Todd was open.  Of course, when you have your PG inbounding the ball at the end of the game, doesn't that tell you a lot?  Bummer, seems like a very nice kid, just having a really tough year.

He is a nice kid and I expect he will be working hard to improve his game between now and next season.

Just re-watched as well...Todd was open on initial inbound..but it was in the corner, where you prefer to not inbound ball to...but I'd take chances with Todd dealing with pressure/trap in corner and he's best shooter...

Once Derrick went away from Todd and chose Jake...not a good idea for Jake to look back to Derrick as outlet, as DW's FT issue..

They're NOT gonna pass to Derrick with the game on the line. That was all on Buzz. DW should not have been on the floor.

Is no one else happy with how hard we fought today? We were down 12 with 10 minutes left and we battled all the way back to force two overtimes. On the road, on senior night. I'm pissed we lost and how we lost, but I think our guys deserve credit for battling tonight.
