Two desperate teams.

Do or die.

The cliche game.

"In 16 Big East games, the Friars and Golden Eagles are averaging the same point total (72), shooting the same percentage from the floor (43) and holding opponents to the same field-goal percentage (44)."

Enter Providence as 3.5 point favorites playing at home. Go MU.

I agree with Buzz our round robin conference schedule really gives our conference character. Over time these new Big East rivalries will become very intense and conference victories will be highly regarded.

What I like the most is not only the double round robin but that is was split evenly: nine first games, nine re-matches.  We didn't see any team for the first time after February 1.  Not seeing a team for the first time in March, after the fate of our seasons are largely decided, not seeing a team twice in January before things really get into gear.

Yep.  One of the handful of reasons that I don't want the league to expand.
