Better shooters, better ball handlers, better hustlers and Jay Wright is a classy coach. Good luck to them in NCAA and represent BE.

Was thinking the same thing.
A very good team. They were able to make Marquette look pretty bad.
Actually Marquette didn't need much help looking bad today - what a pathetic effort from the starting five.
Impressed by Villanova. They play with the consistent effort that marquette has lacked throughout the year.

Early on with their foul trouble I thought we had a chance. That second foul on Arcidiacono was really bad...Thomas definitely slid into him. Two of their best players with 2 fouls each and 14 minutes left on the clock in the first half. They're only up 8-6. Next thing you know, they're up 11 at the half. That was primetime to seize some momentum, but they stood tall.
I was saying this when people were crowning Creighton and I'll say it again... Nova is the only team in the Big East who can do real damage in the tourney. They play excellent defense, and just enough offense to be really good. Unless Creighton gets unconscious from three, Nova is the one team that can make the Final Four this year.
We really need Creighton and Nova to have good tourney runs because the rest of the Big East not looking too good right now.
Agree. Nova looks real. But both are elite 8 teams
They moved the ball like MU's 9-10 team. Always moving the ball, always giving up a good shot for a better shot, keeping the defense scrambling and recovering. If I was watching the game impartially, I suspect I really would have enjoyed how Villanova played today.

Sigh, but i completely agree.
I'm easily putting Nova into the Elite 8. Creighton will be matchup by matchup.

Nailed it. I noticed earlier this season that we don't move the ball well. It always stops because our players don't know where to go with the ball next - Gardner may be the lone exception. I had forgotten about it because of our other problems, but Villanova reminded me what good ball movement looks like.
I agree that Nova is an E8 team. Creighton could go anywhere from out in the round of 64 to winning the title. That's how shooting teams work - they can beat anyone and they can lose to anyone.
Let's see if Jay can come up with a defense to stop Creighton; who seems to have their number this year. Creighton can match them 3 pointer for 3 pointer and plays with the same intensity.
Nova would drive and kick. Marquette would drive and ....
Not long ago, VU got bitch slapped by the Jays, before they knew what hit'em.

Midway through the second half, I turned to my wife (fellow MU alum) and said, "I really like watching Villanova play."
Incredible ball movement, ability to hit 3s, several different players who can take over a game, outstanding defensive quickness and intensity, great hustle. Just a fun team to watch.

Yep. Text that to my friend during the game. Fun to watch teams like that. It was a complete dismantling by Nova.
