Post by: real chili 83 on February 27, 2014, 07:51:44 PM
Bulldog liver on the menu tonight.

At half time, we will discuss what beverages pair well with tonight's entree.

ST Jr. goes for 21 tonight.

DWil, 11 points, 8 assists.

Todd often plays the 3.  Between the 2/3, you could easily rotate John into the 2 once in a while.

Georgetown  52% from field.  5 for 10 from three.  9 for 10 fts

MU  46% from field.  3 for 8 from three, BUT 8 for 13 from fts, wth a Taylor frontend miss.

Georgetown has 5 turnovers, MU only 2.

Difference is free throw misses and Georgetown hot on 3's at first.

Jamil is 1 for 6 from field, 1 turnover, 2 fouls.  He needs to improve bigtime for a win.

Jamil has a focus problem. Every game steps on the line, turns the ball over and over. He just does not have it.
If we had GTs starting guards then we would have a team that could go on some pretty good runs. This team
is the hardest to watch in Buzzs tenure. All the subbing, does not help at all in my opinion. This team has not
had a game this year in conference where they seemed to be in control.

Jamil stinking it up as he does frequently.

GT guards had 31 points in first half. Excellent perimeter D by Mayo, De. Wilson, and Anderson. They give those guards that much slack in 2nd half and it will be curtain time.

Who enjoys watching this crap?  Games were too low scoring last year so we have to resort to make up T's, crap fouls, and constant whistles....just terrible...ruins the game.

The call there with Dawson is the make up for the Juan push in the first half.  Juan got pushed and got called for a foul...there Dawson pushed and Lubbock got the foul.
So makeups on makeups on....
Title: Re: Georgetown game thread

Georgetown getting very frustrated with the reffing.  Got to try to keep composure instead of matching their frustration with ridiculous whistles.
Title: Re: Georgetown game thread
Post by: LloydMooresLegs on February 27, 2014, 09:48:09 PM
My  guess is that they realized that they made a mistake with Jake--made the call and then figured out that he was gesturing to his own bench.  Hence the make-up call.

No..I'll criticize him as it is warranted....tonight...he missed a good look at a 3...a high percentage lay in (a al Derrick) that you questioned how he missed...missed another shot going to basket on a great move that was partially blocked that Davante retrived for an easy lay in...and then the elbow pull up jumper that Cadougan would take all year...

Those aren't bad shots dude...and it forces Dawson to at least be defended everywhere on the florr which serves a purpose

gotta say it, Jake's year this year reminds me of Lockett last year in terms of the way he has come on.  And frankly, the only difference between Jake early in the season and Jake later in the season is that the threes are falling (well, and he is more confident as a result and therefore taking more).  And that is enough.

Derrick better not be on floor.  If Gtown misses and Derrick gets the ball, its hack time.

Woof. Lucky to end with a W. Mad respect to Georgetown for playing hard in a tough environment with their big men on the bench due to bs calls.

Ox and Jake were the difference. Gotta make those FTs boys!!!

Whew,   that was close on a good shot.  Can't believe he got all the way.

Gtown was 27 for 30 from ft line and had no bigs, no bigs for most of second half and a two point game.  Wow.

Do you not feel there were bs calls both ways?  Thought it was a terribly officiated game both ways...GTown got to line as much as we did, so it evened out in the end..

It was still on the rim would have been off interference. He jumped a little too soon because of the bounce on rim.

Any have the stats on Buzz's record in games decided by +/- 3 points?  I swear we are on the winning end of a majority of them - with the only exception being that buzzer beater Butler nailed against us.

No matter how ugly, a win is a win.

Good win for us. Congrats to the team. But it was ugly.

Poor defense; way too many fouls. Their guards scored about 60 points. Poor perimeter D. Their guards repeatedly blew by ours. Todd and Jamil were asleep the whole game. All we did was foul the entire game.

Ox and Jake played well. Take the win and keep grinding.

Wow...I definitely wish I had not gone to bed after the first half, but I don't know how well I'd have slept if I did see this nail biter out to the very end.  Got the W.  Let's keep it going.  We aren't out of the dance yet!  Ring out ahoya!
