Title: UWM loses by 22
Post by: NotAnAlum on February 26, 2014, 01:39:40 PM
At home on senior day to UIC who was riding a 17 game losing streak.  Wow!
There are worse insults than having to go to OT to beat DePaul.

OMG, that would be like us losing to UWM.

So you're saying you fly all the way across the street to the cell to watch UWM?

Hey here's a fun memory. Remember when UWM's half dozen fans kept talking about a rivalry between MU and UWM, and how we were scared to play them? Wonder why we don't hear from them anymore?

UW-M 0-4 in last four and have lost by an average of 16.5 pts.

Rob Jeter is in his 9th year.   Has any coach in modern history been given a longer run and done less?

I'm pretty sure the only thing saving his job is that UWM can't afford his buy out.  I think it runs for three more years.

Yikes!  How do you lose at home, by that much, to a conference foe that has been playing terrible ball?  Were there injuries or major foul trouble?  Barring that, it sounds like Jeter has totally lost the team.

Maybe playing home games in their HS-caliber gym wasn't such a bad idea after all.

I feel bad for Rob as he is a good guy, but knowing Fran is saddled with their futility makes me smile.

The Cell is a much older building. I love flying around in it! Great history in the building, JFK, AL, Bruce Pearl, Stone Cold, Ric Flair, Bucks.

I remember saying they beat MU once, because some kids from UWM beat some kids from the MU dental school in a pickup game in the 1920's.

Wouldn't it just be so awesome if all 4 state teams played in a tournament against each other every year?!

*ducks and runs*

They've been banging that drum for a while. I think Bud Lea was writing columns about this when it was still just the Milwaukee Sentinel. 92-93...some time around there.
