Lose at home to X. Does this help us and our chances or does it even matter?
Sorry for the title typing on an iPhone :D

I vote for doesn't matter. We're battling with both SJU and X for the third and possibly fourth spot for the BE...and the most important thing now is just for Marquette to take care of business.

Yep, need to win games.
In the end we still need to win games but I think it hurts us. Keeps Xavier up there in the standings.
Xavier still has games against Creighton and Villanova, so I think it was better for them to win tonight. Hopefully, it is not a serious injury, but Harrison hurt his knee at the end of the game. St John's will be in tropuble, if he has to miss some games.

I agree that SJU could be in trouble if Harrison is out for some games, but I won't be too hurt myself if he doesn't play in Milwaukee on March 8th. But for him I hope it's not a substantial injury.
I'm a-ok if Harrison comes back after the MU game... or the big east tournament on the off chance we see them.
This is good news. X will lose twice to Nova and Creighton. St. John's will win their next game. If we beat them, we are the third seed.
Probably makes no difference. What matters is that we win. These other guys we are competing with all play each other too, so they will have losses.
As of now the final four game Big East records.
Xavier 1-0
Providence 1-0
MU 0-0
Georgetown 0-0
St. John's 0-2

I still see MU finishing third. That has been my opinion for the last month plus, and nothing has happened to change it I admit, Xavier's win last night makes that a little tougher, but still looks pretty likely.

We're not battling SJU or X for the third or fourth spot for the BE, because such a spot does not exist. Teams earn bids, not conferences.
We're battling for every win we can get because right now we're outside looking in.

I don't care what the other teams are doing at all. Wasted energy. The ONLY thing that matters is what MU does. Watching what the other teams do is only helping you think you can back into the dance. Win and your in. Simple as that.

I think he's talking about seeds for the BET...

Actually, I was more worried about St. Johns, so I feel better about MU getting third now that Xavier has stuck St Johns with a loss.
Just found out that St Johns lost its starting center, Chris Obekpa for 10 days to 2 weeks on February 17th. so he didn't play against Butler, Villanova or Xavier. Hopefully he's still rusty or something on March 8th.
That was the original timetable but I'm pretty sure Obekpa played against Villanova and Xavier.

Yeah he played the last two.
