Title: Greek Freak's Bro
Post by: wadesworld on February 25, 2014, 04:33:03 PM
I'm hearing the Greak Freak's brother is playing with Playground Elite alongside Nick Noskowiak.  With him also playing with Stone at Dominican, can we get those 3 and Matthews to team up at Marquette?

Henry Ellenson is also playing with PGE this year....

As would we all.  I really doubt there's any real chance of that happening, though.  Right now Michigan State seems to be the only real threat to take him away from Wisconsin.

Badgers, unfortunately.

Did Noskowiak switch teams? He was on Playground Warriors the last few years, not Playground Elite.

Even though Playground warriors was originally founded by an MU booster, it is no longer a program that is very pro-MU.  When Jamil Wilson was being recruited, the coaches weren't exactly pushing MU  ;).  I'll leave it at that.  Nick is now on Playground Elite to my knowledge which is much more pro MU unless the rumors regarding Duane Wilson have some truth to them.

What are the rumors regarding Duane Wilson?

Some on this board claim he is considering transferring due to unhappiness on how the redshirt was handled.  I am not claiming this to be true, just stating what I have read on here.  Duane's dad is involved with playground elite.

If MU didn't have a good relationship with PGE Nick wouldn't be playing with them.......

Fairly certain he switched.  I saw a tweet "welcoming" the "new PGE" members, Nick Noskowiak, Henry Ellenson, Greak Freak Jr., and 2 or 3 others.  If they're all playing at their age level, that could be a very strong team.

Absolutely zero truth to this rumor

Of anyone on the roster, sans the seniors and Fischer, Duane transferring makes the least sense.  It ain't gonna happen.

That's plain wrong. He absolutely was considering transferring when the redshirt was being considered. Last I heard he had backed off of those thoughts, but that was months ago and if he had those thoughts at one point they could creep back into his head. I don't think he will transfer, but those who think there's no chance of it are just misinformed.

Here's a clue: Milwaukee Bucks.  First round pick.

Ignorance is never excused, but not following the Milwaukee Bucks is more than understandable.

Why would Duane have tired to get guys like Luke to come here if he wanted to transfer?

Freeing up a spot at Indiana, so he can go there.

I am referring to now.  If Duane transferred, he'd have to sit out ANOTHER year. That is why it makes ZERO sense for him to transfer.  There is no way a guy who just sat out a year and wants to play, is going to transfer and then sit out another year.  That is why it makes no sense.

Could transfer to a JUCO, play immediately for a year, and then transfer to another D1 program and play immediately with 3 years of eligibility left.  Or could try to get the NCAA to waive the redshirt transfer year due to the injury this year.  It shouldn't happen, but weirder things have happened with NCAA decisions.  You just never know with the NCAA.

Again, I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'.

Ah.. clever. Pass on a rumor as absolute truth and then cover yourself for when it doesn't happen. But your language betrays you.

"He absolutely was considering transferring " and then "if he had those thoughts".

If he "absolutely" thought about transferring, why would you use the word "if" when discussing thinking about transferring just one sentence later?

Reading comprehension.  He had those thoughts.  It's a fact.  The "If" becomes part of an "If, then" statement.  "If he thought about transferring a few months ago (he did), then he could (hypothetically) think about transferring later on."  That is the part that I am unsure about...the thinking about transferring later on.

If I said, "I used to be able to run a 4 minute mile, but I put on 100 lbs and haven't gotten off my couch in 2 years.  If I was once able to run a 4 minute mile, I could do it again if I committed to it," does that mean I never was able to run a 4 minute mile because I'm saying "If I did it in the past...?"

Kids think about transferring all the time.  Student athletes and non student athletes.  It happens.  He had the thoughts.  So what?  No big deal if you ask me.  I'm just pointing out that if he had them once, what's to stop him from having them again?  Again, I would be very surprised, but I think those of you who are writing it off as an impossibility are just a little bit overconfident.

Bingo.  Simply put, the way you originally used it, 'if' functions as a logical operator.

Rony Seikaly is now a house dj in Miami.  Unexpectedly, his music is pretty well-known (among this niche) and some only know him as a dj.  How about that.  Guy gets his number retired in the NBA and some only know him as an electro-dance dj.
