Title: Olympic Hockey
Post by: Tugg Speedman on February 21, 2014, 08:26:46 AM
Final, SWE 2 FIN 1.  SWE plays for the gold against the winner of CAN/USA

For Chicago Blackhawks Fans ... SWE has three Blackhawks (Hjalmarsson, Krüger and Oduya).  CAN also has three Blackhawks (Toews, Sharp and Keith) and USA has one (Kane).  So the Blackhawk players are getting no rest during this "break."

I wish I could watch the game live.

I have never watched a women's hockey game, but it sounds like the Canada come back win over the USA was pretty amazing yesterday--similar to the USA men's come back of 4 years ago (though the Canada women won yesterday's game in OT, unlike the USA men)

Bylsma needed to get John Dawson more ice time.

It really sucks that this might be the last time NHL players get to play in the Olympics. Our team is still really young and would do damage in 4 years

They've been having some serious discussion about it. Here is one article

He won't because he is stubborn.

Bylsma is an awful coach. Thats been proven time and time again with his early round exits from the playoffs. There is no what the Penguins team should not be in the cup finals every year. Poor management decision picking him as the US coach.

Happy for Selanne at least.   What a dreadful performance today, but at least Teemu gets a medal.  One of the nicest people I ever worked with in my life, athlete or not.  Great guy.

Go Ducks!

Doc Emmerich was actually saying the same about how nice a person he is and how much his teammates respect him.

He is the best, that absolute best.  Terrific guy.  Very happy for him.  Named MVP of the Olympic Hockey tournament today.  That's a fitting honor.

Some members of Team Sweden are not too happy with the ref selection for the gold medal game.  3 of the 4 are from Canada and the 4th lives in Calgary.  I did not watch the game yet so cannot comment if there were any favorable calls in a 3-0 game.

Not much of a leg to stand on after Backstrom was found doping
