www.kenpom.com ranks Creighton as the 2nd best team in the country after tonight's game, and Marquette as the 51st.
I said at the end of the first half of Big East play that Marquette needed to go 7-2 the second half to get an auto bid, and I still believe that.
Now Forecast RPI gave us only a 5% chance of doing that, but I still believe that is what it will take - meaning we now have to go 4-1 to close out the season.
Very tough to do. We have to win the next two obviously, and then we are in a 2 of 3 at the end where I believe we are underdogs in all 3.
Its tough, but not impossible.
Probably looking at an NIT year, but we still have a pulse.

Assuming we win the next two, thereby requiring a win in 2 of the last 3, do you believe that we MUST win the Nova game? As in, would we get in by winning providence and STJ, but losing Nova?

If we go 4-1, it will still take at least 2 wins in BET.
Remember - we aren't even on the bubble yet. Haven't been all year.

I think we have a better chance of beating Nova than we do St. John's as long as St. John's continue playing the way they are. Look at comparative scores. St. John's lost on last second shot to Creighton and then beats Creighton. Both Villanova and MU are soundly beaten by Creighton twice. I believe Villanova overall was beaten worse by Creighton the we were. We have to beat DePaul, Georgetown and Providence and either beat Villanova or St. John's. I thinking our best chance lies with Villanova.

Let's just win them all.
Sagarin has us 18-13 final projection...win next two, lose two after that, and barely favored over St. John's
Hey, I'll take 51 from KenPom. Better than the 79 RPI we currently have.
Agree we have to go 4-1. And then probably win at least one in NY
We certainly do not want the first game in NY to be against St. John's. We need St. John's to finished fourth so they can take on Creighton in second game. We need to finish 3rd or 6th, so we avoid playing St. John's, if they are the 4th seed.
