Dang, I'm disappointed the Dawson \ freshmen need more time debate isn't going on this morning, but surely it will return.
Nice shooting Jake...happy for him...kid has taken a bunch of knocks...good for you Mr. Thomas...good for you
The board seems eerily quiet to me as well. I wonder if the Mods have statistics in the number of posts after a win versus after a loss? Maybe a two day period of posts after a win versus after a loss?
One would think there would normally be more posts after a win but it seems this season there are more posts after a loss.
Knocking down threes covers a lot of warts.

Both guards have taken there knocks, Derrick played very well. I have said these are the worst 2 guard tandem in 50 years, yesterday they proved me wrong. One game does not make me change my mind, but they both have some talent and it was nice to see them both play great. Need the same effort against Creighton. Every home game is important, next is critical. They can beat Creighton, DePaul and Georgetown at home, beat them twice and now you can talk NCAA. I think it might come down to the St. Johns Game and Providence on the road. Beat
any team twice in a conference looks good in the eyes of the committee
Don't really give a chit who plays as long as we're winnin'.

now we are treated to the TODD MAYO effect...
I think it is a function of winning . Also Derrick has been making real contributions with his disruptive defense, Jamil has shown a lot of offense and Todd is getting significant minutes. So the sense of urgency that the freshman bring is carrying over to the upper classmen. Buzz gave the young kids chances to start and that may have been a message that no job is secure if your not performing.
I think the issue is still out there. Hopefully the team will keep playing well and we wont have to focus on it.
4ever
I am with you on that completely. The guys looked yesterday and it worked. Hope the trend continues. Winning is the name of the game.
Losing brings out the worst in everyone. Everyone has an opinion as to what went wrong and what the team could've done better.
When the team wins, no matter how ugly or impressive, there's no much to say other than "good job" or "bring on the next one!"

Well, you just technically started it. Soooooo now your thread is untrue.
I dislike Derrick being our PG probably more than anyone on this board. That being said, I think he played a pretty good game yesterday and deserves credit for that. I think his track record has proven that this is more of an anomaly than the norm for him however. I still would have liked for Dawson to get a little playing time, even with Derrick playing well. Personally, the frustrating part for me in regards to the freshman not playing is the games where Derrick, Jake, etc struggle to get anything going...then I feel there is no excuse for them to get minimal playing time.

Exactly. This is getting idiotic.
If "haters" aint starting it. The "lovers" are.
Yet people still complain about the conversations taking place.

They have been getting plenty going with this line up.
People complain about the rotation...Buzz shortens it...then people complain that the rotation isn't long enough.

I wasn't complaining. They have had their first winning streak since non conference with this lineup...I'm glad we are are winning, but I am far from convinced that it is sustainable given certain players obvious limitations. Hopefully certain players continue to improve, but given the large sample size that they have been mediocre I'm not positive it's going to happen. People are ready to run Jake outta town last week and this week everyone loves him again...it's the fickle nature of fans. I still think our backcourt is well below average, as I have thought all year long. It will take more than a game here and there to make me think otherwise. I hope I am wrong the rest of the year!!
