Hey, some of you older alums (like myself) help me out here. I went to a charity game at Marquette High in the early 80's with former MU stars playing for charity. It was phenomenal. Maurice Lucas, Marcus Washington, Earl Tatum, Lloyd Walton, Gary Rosenberger etc, etc. Do any of you recall what that was about? When it was, any other details. I'd love to see something like that again.
I don't recall that specific one, but they used to do at least one alumni game each year so it wouldn't surprise me. One year(probably early 1990s) it was Marquette vs. Wisconsin, another year it was 70s vs. 80s etc. The ones I went to were held at the Mecca. Usually the Auditorium, but once or twice at the arena.

I recall going to the MU v UW alum game, and I want to say that it was at the arena. I have a strong recollection of Jim Smith, a Marquette high/UW alum, shooting the lights out of the place. I don't think anyone expected him to steal the show, but he sure did.
Who would you guys want to see in the game? I assume NBA contracts wouldn't allow Wade, Diener, or Novak to participate but participants could include...
Jim McIlvaine, Robert Jackson, Jamil Lott, Tony Smith, Cordell Henry, Hank Raymonds (coach), Marcus Jackson, Terry Sanders, Chris Grimm, Brian Wardle?, Brian Barone, Joe Chapman
I attended one game at Marquette High. I remember seeing Bob Wolf, Chones, Lucas, Dean the Dream etc. Wolf was older but still damn good. Lucas and Chones mixed it up more than a little. Dean did some kind of rocking dribble that made his defender almost fall down.
I was at MUHS for that alumni game. They also did one with alumni wearing boxing gloves playing the women's alumni (the men routed the ladies). Not sure which one was first; but, theere has not been any alumni-type games since then.
Could Murff still play?
