For those of you interested a former Marquette athletic department colleague and friend produced this. It will be on ESPN starting this weekend. The undefeated 1951 USF Dons earned an Orange Bowl bid but only if they left their two African American players at home. USF refused. The program was then dissolved.
He had a heck of a time finding footage, etc, but was able to complete it. Worth a look

Thanks for the heads up! Can't wait to watch it.
Sounds like a great story for a movie. Wonder if Oprah would be interested in producing something like this.
This is what sports is about: taking the success, transcending the sport, and impacting a society.
I enjoyed it. Shame what happened to those guys back then, but they sure excelled in the pros.
I saw the show last night. Very good show. Well worth watching.
I watched it last year. It's a very good hour movie. Good history.

This actually premiered this weekend. A friend of mine wrote and produced it...he used to be the Asst. AD at Marquette.

Either ESPN or Fox Sports did something about the USF team that I remember seeing last year too. Must be something different than this obviously. I'm excited to see this one.

Are you talking about the show on ESPN on Sunday night.? I saw it last year. If it's not the same, it was done the same way.

Yes, the '51 Dons 1 hour show was just completed about 3 weeks ago and aired for the first time on ESPN this past weekend. Tom has been working on this for almost two years.

I did see the one this past Sunday. It was very good!
If you are saying that was brand new, I watch another movie on the 51 Dons, a year or two ago.
