Tranghese concerned about Big East snub

Mike Tranghese has a good memory. It's been seven months since the NCAA selection committee snubbed Syracuse, and the Big East commissioner still is riled.
As part of his opening remarks at the Big East media day, Tranghese reiterated his concerns.

"I don't want our league to be taken for granted because we have 16 teams. There does not need to be an artificial number. The number of teams we have that deserve to be in (the NCAA Tournament) will be determined. None of them should be left out because our conference is getting more. There are some coaches in this room who feel we are being arbitrated against. I have defended it.

"We're very capable of putting in a lot of teams in the tournament this year and I'm anxious to observe. If there's a reoccurrence, then I think we have a big problem on our hands."

It's nice to see him doing this.  There's no point competing in the best basketball conference if deserving teams are going to get snubbed.  The conference would fall apart.
