He was asked by a fan if he had heard from anyone in "Mayo's Camp about decision to leave early".
Hunt quickly and smartly deduced the reader was talking about Blue.
That's where the smarts stopped.
Hunt opined it was a bad decision but that he was making good money in Europe.
HOW DO WE HAVE A BEAT WRITER THAT DOESNT KNOW OUR FIRST CURIOUS EARLY ENTRY IN 30 YEARS WAS CUT BY ISREAL, SCORED 39 IN DELAWARE AND IS NOW A BOSTON CELTIC!?!?!?!?!?!!
Nothin' worse than a Hunt that chatters, hey?
Mike Hunt always lives up to his name.
When Mike Hunt stinks....... Nobody enjoys it.
Careful, Mike Hunt can be crotchety.
Mike Hunt doesn't like such probing
Dwight Buycks signed with the Raptors!
This just in, Doc Rivers is coaching the Clippers!
Simple answer: Mike Hunt is lazy. Can't even be bothered to comb the short & curly hair on his head half the time. Routine maintenance these days if you ask me.
I'm going to use this thread to highlight how horrible the MJS beat writer is. Yes I just ended a sentence with a preposition because I think that's how he would want it.
Check out today's blog:
It's been three games since Buzz Williams shook up the lineup by starting freshmen Jajuan Johnson and Deonte Burton. The Golden Eagles are 2-1 since then with variations on the lineup as the two freshmen continue to grow. "I think Deonte can score in an almost uncanny way, but he also takes really dumb shots because he doesn't understand time-score-momentum." Williams said. "But he's not blatantly taking dumb shots, It's that he's played 22 games in his career. He's always dominated his opponent.
"So when he shoots that three at a critical juncture, it's like Deonte, you don't have to take that because nobody was guarding you. I told you to drive it because that's the way you've been scoring. And he says, yeah, I know. I say, we can't give that possession away. He's Lazar Heyward-like in, hey, I've got that. But when you don't get that, they're dunking it. And if they're not dunking it, they're rotating over and getting fouled because you want to be Ron Artest and bump dudes off and want to go steal the ball. It's part of growing and maturing. But we need those guys to keep growing and helping us. It's delicate when they're all on the floor together because it's hard to get into a groove sometimes."

There are 216 words. All but 40 of them are Buzz's quote. That qualifies as a blog entry? No insight, no stats, no commentary. He's just checking the box.
Oh and he misspelled Lazar's last name.
I thought he was having another chat today.
I wanted someone to ask him why he didn't take the Alverno College basketball beat, since it's more up his alley.
Ask him what the last game he attended was. I don't remember the last time I saw him on press row.

At this point, I don't even blame Hunt. He's estalbished a body of "work" that MJS deems acceptable, based on the fact that he's till the beat writer, so why change. Not saying that's how I would act under the circumstances, but a lot of people would do the same. MJS needs to give him a tap on the shoulder followed by a "what the hell, man."

Our first early entry in 30 years was drafted by and still plays for the Miami Heat.
Unless you're saying that one didn't qualify as "curious".

No, I don't consider an All American who put up a trible double vs the #1 team in the country and was projected a top 10 pick, to be a curious entrant. But that's just me.
