Im sure all programs do this but MU feels like one of the biggest offenders. I was walking next to Todd and Luke and no way they are their listed heights. Im 5'9" and Todd does not seem like he is 5 inches taller then me. Same goes for a lot of the players. The only legitimate heights are Jamil, Steve, Chris and Juan. Theres not really a point to this I just find it interesting that MU bumps up their players heights so much.
MU is not alone and this is not a new phenomenon. I met Isaiah Thomas many years ago when he was with the Pistons. Listed at 6'1. Same height as my 5'10. High school buddy was a pretty good linebacker. He was a 1/2 inch shorter than me, but made sure he was listed at 6'0 so that colleges would take him seriously. He ended up playing D2 ball, so it worked.

I've seen Luke and Chris next to each other. They are the same height.
Most teams list guys in shoes. and you can general add 1 1/4 to 1 1/2" so if you are 5'9" in bare feet you are more like 5' 101/2". most of people have there height from doctor visits so we really do not ever get measured with basketball shoes on.
Remember Jae Crowder's pre draft workouts? Who knows how they do the heights.
When I was in high school, we'd get measured (with shoes on) and weighed before the season. The coach would then give seniors the option to add an inch to their height or 5 pounds to their weight. (Everyone picked height)
My impression has been the opposite, that Marquette lists the heights smaller than reality. For example, Jamil, and Steve were listed at 6'8" in high school and then became 6'&" at MU.
& = 7?
Good thin' we don't measure Johnsons on this board, hey?

length or girth? (no homo)
Terry Cummings was listed at 6'11" in college at DePaul but when asked years later when playing in the NBA as to what his height really was, he said 6'8" without shoes. Either thick soles or very thick socks? He played big and hopefully Luke plays the same.
This esard dude is short
BTW - if (college) coaches want to know how tall a recruit is they will literally ax their (current) coach to get out the tape and measure them. Listed heights are all over the place.
When he's out on the town, ZFB usually is in 5-inch heels. Most people in public think he's 6'3" (and a woman).
FWIW Mo Acker's 5'8" seemed pretty legit. ;)

C'mon Doc. All of the sh1t fights around here are measuring contests...
Sorry for my typo error with my smart phone. I meant the second height to read 6'7" in my comment.
It's psychological warfare when you pump up the heights.
But if everyone does it, is it really THAT effective?
