Dare I say this is our best offensive lineup...
Dawson, Thomas, Jamil, Steve and Gardner
I really like Dawson's vision (what we have seen in his limited minutes). Always liked Steve on offense. Still a liability on D but I think getting points motivates the others on defense too. Nice ball movement at the end there. Todd was all over and not very controlled again. Looks like the Mayo is a little expired today.
If Todd develops a floater, he'll be unstoppable.

+1
Todd is our quickest with the ball. Love that he is going to the hoop. Shots will fall when shooters keep shooting

We don't have any shooters.

Based on today's game so far, I agree.
Time for g'town to choke
Here's a few thoughts on the lineup after tonight's game and roles changing over.
PG: Dawson 25mpg - Focusing on more ball movement, paint touches, great shot from outside. Clutch free throws.
D Wilson - 15mpg - Spells Dawson + hard-nosed defensive player, such as when Junior was here
SG: Thomas 20-25mpg - Still proving why he's an invaluable asset. Good defender and one of our best players this year.
Mayo - 15-20 mpg - Slasher and 6th man - ice cold veins at the end of regulation
Johnson - Still raw and with Jake/Todd's play I don't see him getting more than 10 a game when he returns
SF: Jamil - Nice all-around game from Jamil but still need to see more. 25-30mpg
Deonte - Still forcing too much on offense. Finally didn't commit fouls immediately after misses tonight.
Juan - took 3 bad shots...not in the flow or playing great defense right now. Regressed since his "3 threes" game.
PF: Davante: Becoming our go-to guy on offense. Big turnaround the last few games for Ox.
Steve: Great seeing him out there. Injury still a problem? Steve could get 15-20mpg if healthy after tonight.
C: Chris - no comment needed. Thanks for the hard work Chris.
Davante - Plays with Steve, Deonte and Jamil in the front court from here on out.
Dylan Flood - scores a bucket vs. Villanova :)
Turning point
Certainly against zone I want Steve in the high post. He moves the ball pretty effectively and seems to have good rhythm with Davante. I can also envision some offense defense substitution patterns at the PG.

Yeah, there are still many questions on Taylor. Do like what he did yesterday, however. Some real questions:
1. Why DNP in 7 of last 10 games and then he gets the minutes last night?
2. Why did he not even play two days before against Butler?
3. Why was he playing in the paint about 15 feet off his man when the guy was on the perimeter? Was he instructed to do that? And if so, why does Buzz have Otule and Gardner go out on the perimeter in similar circumstances?
4. Can Taylor manage being tough defensively? Have not really seen that yet.

I agree that it's all very strange about his playing time. Maybe Buzz just needed to change some things up and ultimately Steve got enough time to show what he could do on offense again. As far as defense he is definitely not there yet. He loses his man or misses cutters, which is why he was pulled early in games I think.

I know it's not Buzz's style, but I think this team's best 5 defensive players are so bad on offense that Buzz is join going to have to accept a few extra defensive mistakes in the game the rest of the year.
