ND/Duke entertaining game today so far.
IU got rolled.
Cincy with a big win over Memphis
-
Notre Dame with a fierce run.. 60 all with 7:49 left.
Rodney Hood is sooo legit.
Curious what Coach K does with Quinn Cook & Tyus Jones next season. Ayyyy...
I4 losing to Michigan State - Spartans top guys are tough. If they stay healthy.. yeesh, great team. BUT.. on I4.. some are (re-?)framing the season as 'transitional'... wonder if the media will wake up to the Crean buyout if things get worse.
I4 still has plenty of talent and can change certain things up to give them a better chance of winning.. should be a tourney team, IMO, but we'll see...

Kansas State with a huge upset over Oklahoma State.

-
SDSU with a good win @kansas today. helps MU.
-
loved watching Wake beat the Tarheels on Sunday - 'Ol Roy's team sure has its ups and downs this year
-
The Big ? will be interesting. Can't wait to see how the Bucky/Spartan/Badger triangle shakes out. No one else there really impresses me. Boeheim has a whole new league to confuse with his zone. Duke's lack of inside presence will hurt them over the long run. Kansas has horses, but have maddening lapses. We are all frustrated with MU so far. But if Gardner, Wilson, and Mayo start bringing it every game, MU is not that far from being a NCAA second weekend team.

That triangle will likely work in Wisconsin's favor. Sparty and OSU travel to Madison. Wisconsin doesn't travel to either East Lansing or Columbus. Favorable schedule will be pounced on.
This year is much like last year, no great teams with a small group of very good teams and a large swathe of crap. Similar to Louisville don't be surprised if the Champions struggle a bit early and then roll momentum in late February.
Also as with last year, MU has a chance to do some serious damage due to the lower level of play. Took advantage then but not sure they have it within to take advantage these next eight weeks.

Gret game tonight between Wisonsin and Illinois. Illinois has surprisingly a nice team this year. Go Illini hope they make some noise this year. I think a top 4 finish in the Big 10 is possible this year for them.

And its an ass beating instead.

Yechh, turned it off in favor of the Blackhawks game awhile ago.

Purdue over Illinois. B10 cannibalizing itself this season

Illinois is bad.

Looks like OSU is going to drop another one. This time @nebraska
-
Michigan playing well lately. Just knocked off Iowa.
UMass goes down to unranked Richmond.
SLU continues to win. Anyone wish Larry/Pilarz really would have turned us into them now?
Looks like a good one so far between UW/Minn
-
And down goes Bucky...
and a bonus from Minny (brunette on the left...): (http://wac.9ebf.edgecastcdn.net/809EBF/ec-origin.barstoolu.barstoolsports.com/files/2014/01/chicks.gif)

Iowa taking Michigan to the woodshed today. Who the hell wants to win that conference?

Very tough to win on the road. Would anyone want to play at Nebraska in their new building? 11-1 I think. Penn State is always a game on the road. Minnesota, Wisconsin, IU, all tough games at home, goes without saying MSU and OSU.

Nonsense.

Big day in TX to rush the court, hey?

Did Smart cost himself some NBA draft bread by shovin' the old fart honky in the crowd?

Not too, dare I say, "smart." ;D
-
Wisconsin, at home, with an 8 pt halftime lead against a depleted MSU.
-
Payne just leveled Gasser. It was awesome
-
Nigel Hayes is a very good player and already flops like a veteran.
-
"inadvertant contact"? come on greg. you're better than that.
-
Dawson hits a ridiculous shot. Brust chokes. Payne nails a 3. Jackson hits a clutch jumper. Good ending.
-
Maybe Heisenberg can start a thread about MSU missing the tournament :o
-
Wisconsin taking it to Michigan early.
-
Bucky taking the blue to the woodshed today.
-
Are the Red still on the bubble like us?

And again.. nonsense. People love to claim the Big Ten specifically is THE league that is unbelievably tough to win on the road in.. it's not supported by facts (unlike a divorce rate that is closer to 50% than it is to 30% ;))
Nebraska wins at MSU
Becky wins at Michigan
Minnesota at NW now... TBD
Road team has won ~44% of the time in Big Ten games this year. oooOOoohhh! SCARY!
-
Michigan beats MSU. Takes over first place in whatever conference
-
Badgers score only 19 in the first half and still manage to knock-off indiana. crazy second half
Minnesota wins against Iowa.
Wichita St 1 win away from a perfect regular season
-
Wichita finishes a perfect season.
Memphis knocks of Lousiville.
MSU scores 46 while losing to illinois. What's going on there?
UConn beats Cincy (with Cronin going ballistic)
UVa secures its first ACC title by beating #2 Cuse. Bennett sure has done a good job with that program.
SLU and UK having trouble with their games
-
Kansas wins their 10th consecutive Big 12 title (regardless of whether they win or lose against Oklahoma State tonight). That is pretty incredible. What is truly incredible is that within those 10 league titles, Bill Self has returned 0 starters 3 times and still won the Big Twelve.
-
Holy upsets all over the place today. OkSt beats Kansas. SLU and UK lost.
Hope we can keep the upsets going tomorrow.
-
Another T25 team goes down.. OSU loses @indiana
IU might just sneak in to the tourney. Lots of good wins there.

They have the third most wins against ranked teams in the country. They're young, inconsistent, so they've lost some other games. I doubt they get in, but the collapse some people predicted here in the last 5 games (would lose them all) is just another of the ridiculous predictions over the years here. Pretty amazing, but butt hurt makes people say dumb things.

Yup. That's the crux of them this season. Beating OSU without Vonleh was particularly impressive today. Sheehey has picked it up lately the few games. They could be a VERY strong team again next season.

I'm not willing to go there. If Vonleh comes back, they will be very strong. I doubt he comes back. Lack of size will hurt them, but then again MU never had much size with TC so he'll have some very athletic guys out there winning in other ways.

They should be very good next season. Stud frosh (especially Troy) become sophomores, Yogi as a junior, I still haven't lost all hope on Hollowell and Hanner could come around as well. Then add lots of question marks throughout the Big Ten [i.e., look at the 5 teams that look to be in - MSU lacks depth this season & will lose a ton of their 'good' guys, OSU with a changing of the guard(s) w/Craft & Smith gone, who will Michigan return, etc] and the 2014 HS class... no reason I4 shouldn't AGAIN be projection at the beginning of the year to be a tourney team next season.. and they'll have high upside.
Will they p33 down their leg again? Don't know, there's a variable in the equation that might leak.
I **love** Blackmon. What he did w/Spiece last summer and continues to do this HS year... so crucial that they "got him back".
-
Look at the new, unbalanced schedules for starters.
Barry Alvarez must have pictures of Delaney and little children over the last few years. Considering the football division alignment and the first schedule with Maryland and Rutgers.....I don't know how Wisconsin doesn't win the Big Ten next year. Should be no excuse not to.
IU will still have a major hole at the 5 and likely there is a key transfer or two going out if you believe the rumblings (much like at MU, unfortunately).

Another fun weekend..
UW loses to nebraska
Maryland beats Virginia
OSU hands MSU another loss
Wichita continues the undefeated streak
Florida goes 18-0 in the SEC
Arizona loses to Oregon
Kansas goes down again (w/out Embid)
Louisville KILLED UConn
SDSU and UNM was a great game
Conference tourneys should be a lot of fun
-
Florida looks like the class - but it is more wide open then I can ever remember. UW or Mich. State could lose in 1st round or go to Final Four
