Title: Garrett and Brandon Young
Post by: Clam Crowder on January 04, 2014, 03:08:49 PM
Who was guarding Brandon Young this whole game? Absolutely shut him down.

Garrett in the last 5 was invisible. Great defense down the stretch and big play out of the big boy.

Depaul is NOT as bad as they used to be

We're just not as good as we used to be.

No they are not, they played Georgetown close for a good stretch. They are just really inexperienced

Well I for one think Jake was great today (At least in the second half). Those threes really changed things up for a bit

Are they? Melvin and Young--their two best players--are seniors.

Wilson was on Garrett most of the second half (I think).  Agree on Jake's threes but we are fortunate Gardner got in a groove and kept scoring.  Nice to be 1-1.  Now let's hope Burton and JJJ can have a good game vs. X.

To your first point, check out the box score of the Gtown-Johnnies game today in D.C. G-town was up 26 points at the half against a potent St. John's team.

Rebounds and defends like a fifth year senior should.

I agree 100%.  Despite our stinky offense, they are better than they have been.   Their RPI before the game was 112.  (our's was 125)

Nine of their players are upper classmen.  I agree their most talent is inexperienced (after Melvin I think Young is overrated) but the overall team is certainly experienced.
