Title: New Year's bracketology
Post by: mileskishnish72 on January 02, 2014, 09:13:21 AM
Lunardi's latest has 4 BE reps, albeit X in a play-in. GT, Nova and Creighton in, Bucky a 1 seed. No mention of MU.

Still a whole lot of basketball left to play.  12-5 in the remaining 17 BE games is probably nessary, though.

We've played 7 non cream-puff teams and have lost 6 of them and based on the most recent games and the loss of Duane Wilson we are not moving in the right direction.  Making the NCAA this year is probably an unrealistic dream.

The NIT is no lock, either. We could lose 10 BE games easily.

The key word is "could." Nova twice, @Xavier, Gtown twice, Creighton, @Butler, @Providence, @Seton Hall, @St. John's.

We "could" go either 17-0 or 0-17 starting Saturday. Or we "could" end up somewhere in between.

You said could and easily....that implies likely.  You think this team loses to Seton Hall or Providence?  I suppose anything is possible, but I don't think there is any rational evidence that those teams could beat us even if the game was on the moon.

We have lost at Seton Hall and struggled at Providence before with better teams than thjs. Hey, we could turn everything around and surprise me. I just think this is a team in serious transition right now, with the seniors underperforming and our freshmen learning on the job. I just think there are very, very few games left on out schedule where I would say, "That's going to be an easy win."

Unfortunately, this MU team may very well lose to DePaul at home Saturday. That's truly pathetic. There was no rational evidence to suggest them being 7-6 at this point and already out of the NCAAs this year already either. But there they are. They must be so proud. BIG time underachievers that they are.

What evidence do you have we would lose to DePaul?  This team may be underachieving it's talent and expectations but DePaul is not a good team.  We lose to good teams, not bad ones.
