Sorry about what's going to happen Tuesday 8-) but I wanted to say thanks for all MU's support over the last year, both from the fanbase and from the administration.
Without that support you might be playing Dayton in 48 hours, which would have really sucked for both of us.
So, thanks, and hopefully this is the kickoff to a great new rivalry!
Like no way dude. Go Warriors.

Yeah, no Dayton please.
Looking forward to a tradition of playing traditionals!
What's a Dayton? It kinda sounds like a place basketball goes to die.

They know what the NCAA tournament feels like....they host eight teams in their arena every year.
Sorry for what's about to happen when you realize that Big East teams play defense.
I wouldn't think the Bluejays are real afraid of our D...Creighton's offense is better.....They are the 4th best offense in the country per Pomeroy.
The question really is...is MU's O better then Creighton's D?
We are going to find out..............

How is anyone this confident, given how poorly MU guards the three?
Good shooters, fired up crowd, and MU playing against a non-cupcake all adds up to a Creighton win. And it won't be close.
Not confident but there's something to the fact that this is the Big East not the Missouri Valley.
Has Creighton even played a competent defensive team this year?
And awfully arrogant for a Creighton fan to be so presumptuous on the eve of debuting in a real conference against a team who's been through some crap.

Creighton has lost to the two best defensive teams they have played this year (although they put up a ton of points on San Diego St.... against GW they didn't shoot well from 3.. which spells disaster for them most nights).

Glad you guys are in the Big East with us.
As Pomeroy believes, it's not necessarily your 3 point defense that is important, it's the amount of 3 pointers you allow to be taken. Basically, teams have no control over their defensive 3 point percentage. Currently Marquette is 297 in 3GA/FGA defensively (high number is worst). Creighton is 11 offensively.

Be a dick to a guy after a good natured post on our board, and I'm the a-hole? Right.
And they absolutely deserve the benefit of the doubt. They have a strong program, and this league ain't what it was. Right now, they're better than Marquette. As is Villanova. The rest, we'll see.

As for where the teams rank in various Pomeroy stats ... good thing for the Warriors that our lads get to take on opposing basketball players rather than Ken Pomeroy.

Yep. UConn was ranked #2 going into that game, and we were starting 3 freshmen. We weren't even supposed to be close, and we blew them away in a game that was over just after halftime.
Creighton could manhandle us tomorrow...and it still wouldn't compare to our huge upset of UConn that night.
Been looking forward to this game for a long time. The name of the game will be pace. If it turns out to be a track meet Marquette will not be able to keep up but Creighton has to slow the possession down like against George Washington then it might be Marquette's game to take. Creighton will be favored by probably 6-7 and it will be the most electric that place has ever been. Should be a great game though.

I admit it, I fear we could be in a world of hurt, especially if your boys are hitting their 3s and our lads aren't.
Given that Creighton is the league leader in 3-point shooting by a wide margin (.437) and we're bringing up the rear (.311), this would seem a legitimate fear.
I'm a Marquette grad, but I was born and raised as a Creighton fan. When push comes to shove, as much as I love Marquette, I will be in blue on Tuesday night. Looking forward to a fun rivalry between two like-minded schools and a couple of great fan bases.

Having said that, so long as JW suits up we'll be OK. Expect a close game and I hope your big crowd doesn't sway the officials. This team is DUE!

Well the fact that they beat ASU bad and we lost to them is one thing, the fact that they lost to SDSU by less than we did also counts. Though they did drop a big steamer against GW. Just saying they've done some things better than us.

No need to apologize it'll be Creighton's first Big East game and first game jitters should be expected. I'm sure you'll give us a much better game the second time we play.
Glad to have you guys, along with Butler and X, in the league. You 3 were the obvious choices.
The 11th and 12th teams are a little trickier.
My hope for you guys is that you consistently make the tournament and help keep us at a 5 bid league.

Wait, you graduated from Marquette and are cheering for Creighton? Seriously? I was born and raised an Indiana fan. Still vaguely rooted for them until the Bronze Beast arrived in Bloomington. But against Marquette? Never. Ever. That, sir, is traitorous and should not, cannot and will not be forgiven.

Yep, this guy has priorities out of order...you can't root against your alma mater unless you have more than one. Twenty lashes with a wet noodle for this traitor. ;)

Creighton games the system by having daddy pay for Doug's tuition. Effectively an extra scholarship purchased by the school via head coach pay. Federal investigation is warranted if we lose.

We both needed each other. I still think the conference needs two more teams but Creighton, X, and Butler really added to this league.
