Title: Jamil
Post by: RideMyBuycks on December 28, 2013, 01:23:09 PM
Would a red shirt be possible if that injury was as bad as it looked?

You mean a medical hardship waiver -- but no.

First, if he wasn't in his 5th year it would still be a no go because he's played in over 30% of MU's scheduled games this season.

If this was, say... game #8 of the season.. his issue would be that he's in his 5th year and the question becomes "could he receive a 5-year rule waiver".. by the book, the answer to that is also no. If* he could argue some special reasons for transferring to Milwaukee, then it's possible to get a waiver of the waiver rule...

But.. in Jamil's case.. highly, highly unlikely. Doesn't meet multiple criteria.

Back to bench and still in uniform.

Looked like more of a hyperextension to my wholly unqualified eyes.

The #5 for Samford who fouled Jamil was the same dude who hacked JJJ from behind too.

Yup.  Beyond overaggressive.

While they're saying it's just precautionary, he's walking with a pretty big limp.

Not related, why doesn't STJ get any minutes?  Didn't he play against New Mexico?  So he's clearly not going to be redshirting.

That's great news, but wasn't Davante's a knee sprain and he was day-to-day. That turned into at least a month if I remember right. Hopefully he can be back in time for Creighton, or at least not miss a lot of time.

Thanks.  Wish we'd get more info but don't think it'll be forthcoming.  That does seem to suggest that some amount of ligament damage has occurred to possibly include things like fraying of the fibers, etc.  The fact that they actually saw issues on the MRI has me firmly in the 'not optimistic' for Creighton camp.  Personally, I don't see how we compete against Creighton without a healthy Jamil.  If anyone on this board thinks Davante can hang with Doug I've got Florida swampland for sale.  Be interesting to see what Buzz comes up with.

Source?  If so, wonderful.  That would be a VERY slight sprain.

I wish ESPN would take this off its Headlines:

"Marquette's Wilson (leg injury) will redshirt"

My heart also skipped a beat when I saw that, as I thought it was Jamil.

If jamil comes back hopefully he won't be so soft. A first round talent but headed to the D league, at best.

Welcome to the board, Colby.  Did Jamil ignore your high five attempt as you walked by him between classes?  Maybe he'll look down and see you next time.

I see what's happening here ....

We went from an obsession with walking boots to screaming RED SHIRT every time a player grimaces.
