If you sum the %Shots of MU's normal starting five, you should come up to less than 90%. That's incredibly low.. and odd. Jamil is the only 20%+ %Shots guy - also unusual.
Probably not a good way to start games... or a great group to have on the court together if you're looking to score efficiently. Will Buzz change his mind on this? I don't mean this in the wrong way, but I hope so.
May change 'cause he doesn't have the buyout contract Crean has, hey?
Could you explain the % Shots stat, I'm not familiar with it. Is it the percent of their shots that are 2pts vs. 3pt/FT?
From what I understand it is the percentage of shots a player is taking of the total shots taken on the team. If we take 50 shots a game and Jamil takes 10 of those, his %shots is 20%. And then that is averaged over the season.

You must also adjust for minutes played. It's an estimate of the % of the team's shots a player takes *while he is on the floor*. PlayerFGA / (%Min * TeamFGA)

Makes sense. I thought what I was coming up with was too simple. Thanks JB.
I also would think the fact that MU has a deep team has some effect on this calculation. Also the starting lineup has changed, since the season started out with Taylor starting.
I've never heard of this stat either. Are there historical numbers showing a correlation with winning%?
