Title: Jamil Wilson & Johnnie Lacy
Post by: pwh00 on October 20, 2007, 09:25:49 PM
Anyone hearing anything about the recruiting statuses of Jamil Wilson and Johnnie Lacy?  I thought I read a doomsday post somewhere earlier this month that Wilson had supposedly given a "silent" verbal commitment already to UW, but I'm hoping - almost praying - there's no truth to that repulsive scenario.....

I've seen a lot of posts lately about TC needing to get more recruits from the land of Blagojevich, but I think it'll be just as vital for TC to land one or both of these '09 studs from his own backyard.

There is no truth the Wilson rumor.  He doesn't even have a leader at this point.

MU is the leader for Lacy, but it is still very early, no one else has even offered a scholarship as of yet.

are you just guessing on MU being the leader for Lacy or do did he state that some where? j/w I haven't heard to much about Lacy but what i have heard have been some good things. wouldn't it be nice to get the both? then follow it up the next year with a commit from Evan Anderson??

Haven't heard him saying it, but at the Bay View-Marquette High game last year that was the rumor going around among some of the Bay View fans.  How much they actually know, I don't know.  But right now no one is recruiting him as hard as MU.

Now that Shumpert is not an option, I assume Lacy becomes the top '09 priority at PG. Lacy (and the entire Bay View HS team) attended the late August open scrimmage at the Al.
I have not seen Lacy play, but from some reports he seems to be a poor mans Korie Lucious.

Lacy might very well be a poor man's Lucious, but he's ranked a top 100 recruit in his class by just about everyone. HoopScoop has him at #19, Scout has him at #72, Van Coleman on CSTV at #82, Rivals at #89.

I think if we land tyshawn taylor this year, we stop recruiting lacy and try to land jamil wilson, maurice creek and erik murphy for 09.  ambitious, yes i know...
