So what you're saying is Saturday is a must win. 91 won't cut it unless they finish top 3 in conference.

Not a must win, but would help if we're in the bubble discussion. With a loss, but a solid conference record (say 11-7 or 12-6) MU may be in the 50-55ish range... and without much proven in nonconf on the road or at neutral sites.. would be an important win, certainly not a must.

PS - Can you imagine the other bizarre things chicos must watch?

Pretty mainstream stuff to be honest.

Family Guy
Game of Thrones
Walking Dead
Madmen
Movies
Sports
I mostly read, to be honest

I happened to see this because those two profs have an awesome college basketball prediction site on predictive modeling and I remember reading about a television appearance.

I've never seen those specific shows you've named. Guess I'm not mainstream in that respect.

Which website is theirs? Will check out sometime.

Seems like the committee placed a lot of value on RPI the past few years.  Our "no bad losses" games are actually doing well for us, just not as great as a win would have been.  Combine that with the cupcakes on the schedule being worse than future years that hurt even with the win and it's rough on the RPI.

All good shows Chico. I'm glad Brian is back on FG. And nothing beats reading.

As to the question of RPI, I think it is the single most important factor. It is the only thing that you can compare all teams apples to apples. Conferences, opponents, SOS, "good wins" and "bad losses", etc. are all somewhat subjective. In the big scheme of things, RPI is still probably less than half of the decision made by the selection committee, but I think it is the single biggest factor.
