Wow. Tough call. Can't argue with anyone. I'll go with the Juan.
Juan
Erryone. Period.
Juan me please
Against a team that bad and that well rounded of a performance.
honest tally it for the team.
Juan with 10pts, 6 rebounds, 6 steals.
Otule with 14 points, 6 rebounds, 4 blocks.
I go with Juan because of his hustle.
Juan
Anderson
Three way tie for me between Juan, JJJ and Otule. This is the one time I actually cant pick out one guy.
Juan plus Juan is two SOTG in a row.
one of the toughest calls I can remember...
If it was half 1....Juan no question (love his ever-improving game)
If it was emotion...love the froshpit!...Burton was awesome buy this, clearly, was JJJ's best all around game...and what a look into his potential at MU!
Derrick was steady and even a bit better...
But, all things being equal...give it to the big guy...Chris Otule was awesome on both ends of the court and his video on the inner workings of Buzz's bunch humbled me..CO for SOTG!
Juan. He set the tone...again.
Derrick Wilson - 11 points, 5 assists, 0 turnovers

only problem with this is I don't think you can set the tone against a team that bad. You just gradually keep increasing the lead.
They shoot fts worse than we do 3s.
Erryone
Juan
I totally agree Juan had an awesome game but I am going with Derrick, he seemed like he came out of his shell and even hit a 3!
So many good choices. Derek hit his first three, and had the beautiful alley oop for the Wilson to Wilson connection. Otule swatted four blocks and was the lead scorer. Also neutralized Majok squared. Bane was aggressive and had that purrty dunk.
But I got to give the nod to Juan for the back to back SOTG. He did a little bit lot of everything tonight. Incredibly high motor...and he limited his TOs to 1 today.
Easy. Juan. Brilliant play all around.
I was all ready to say Juan at halftime (as were most, I'm guessing), but he wasn't quite the same after the sprained ankle.
Otule was solid from beginning to end.
But I'd go with Derrick, and that's certainly a first for me. It feels nice to be able to go against my own Derrick Moratorium and talk about the young man for the first time in a week ... because I have something nice to say.
In addition to his good all-around PG's stat line, I thought he was really in control of the team whenever he was out there. He took it aggressively to the hole a couple times in the first half, his alley-oop to Jamil was a thing of beauty and that 3, seriously, I think it was his first basket from outside 3-4 feet all season long. If he could hit even one of those a game, it would make opposing coaches not automatically have a defender stay 5 feet away from him.
As I said, Juan and Otule would be outstanding choices, too.
Juan or the Irishman
Juan, not because he had 6 steals, but because he would of had 12 steals if he got everyone he got his hands on.

Wait, don't we make fun of deflections around here?
Sorry I couldn't resist.
Juan
The eye test says Juan.
Definitely the star of the first half. For the game? Roll a dice. Great balance.
Derrick.
There can only be Juan SOTG
The Chosen Juan
The California Kid......Juan
Otule
Tough call on this but I think Deonte Burton was most studly last night.
Juan. Love the hustle and the steals.
Otule
Juan was the best player on the floor last night.
Also, he should not have won the previous game (should have been Gardner)
Juan
Have to give the edge to Juan. He has really impressed me as of late! Otule with a close runner-up. S/O to Burton and JJJ for looking better every game!

Those two clearly want minutes badly and they're not afraid to try to make a statement that they deserve them. Neither is bashful about shooting, that's for sure. I hope they make "the leap" with the rest of the team that we usually see over semester break.
I'm going Irish. But I think both Juan and Derrick would be fine choices. If those two guys can continue to up their game our future looks bright this year. We are playing so much better than a month ago.
Yes...he was Juanderful to watch.
This was a tough Juan. Oh, that's overplayed. Went with Otule because in addition to a good 14 pt, 6 reb, 4 block outing, he made Majok2 a nonfactor.
But no slight to Juan, he deserved it as well, and I hope he can keep this intensity up (and hopefully that ankle doesn't cause problems...I haven't read the other threads...).
Hmmm. I find it interesting that hardly anybody went with Derrick ... and even more interesting that I was one who did!
