Six wins, 6 different SOTG. And Deonte, JJJ, Jake and Derrick are capable of playing at that level any given night.
So every night we have 10 potential SOTG. This is what makes this team's potential awesome ... So much talent from top to bottom. And, this is the problem, who are the chiefs and who are the Indians? (Like the Warrior reference?)
Thoughts?
Chiefs are starting to emerge. I'd argue it's Jamil, Jake and Deonte. Now don't get me wrong. Deonte isn't ready to lead others yet but he now knows the game isn't too big for him and he's developing a killer instinct on the floor. 'Give me the damn ball cause I'm going to score.' The key remains that 1 second he needs to be better on D.
By the way and mentioned elsewhere, that dunk that began at half court was a thing of beauty.
Actually, what's most different and missing from this year's team seems to be deflections and turnovers which lead to easy transition baskets, imo.

Excellent point. The cupcake we just played had more steal/breakout attempts than we did.

I think those were primarily attributable to the saviors being unable to successfully pass the ball around the perimeter.

My main thought is that Yes we have a good dispersion of talent, but I believe that some of the votes for STOG are simply some people trying to get somebody into the stud category who really is not. Just a thought.

The moderators are the ones that select sog. Our "votes" not really tallied to decide.

Who this year did you think didn't deserve it? Not all of them were the pick I would have made but they were always in my top 2 or 3 for that game

except for the fact that all 6 are against cupcakes.
It's not a good thing to have no one emerge. Its why we are losing against any team with a pulse.
Last 3 years we have had many win the STOG awards as well, but also had leaders separate themselves from the pack.
So the difference, is a negative.

Agree, once we get February I'll take the Crowder every game like two years ago or the Vanders that started piling up last year. Got to have an alpha dog or two that dominate every game. Helps the rest of the team respond as well.
What's really different is that two players that would contribute are hurt.

Even though one of them has a SOTG designation, already.
