Title: Season at the CrossRoads
Post by: muchamps on December 10, 2013, 10:25:22 AM
Its been said here 3 or 4 times this week.I wrote about it a few weeks ago. You can't win by not playing you Best team. You can't give up major minutes to your bench players and in some cases, walkons (Jake) with out calculating what you've lost before you try to save the game. I'll say it again, your 3 best players need to play 32-35 min.
Here's an exercise, name a top 20 team that has their leading scorer on the bench and when he is in the game the second and third best players sit down.
We will lose most games against the top 25 if this continues. "The Best", group could be amazing. It may cost us that special recruit or a freshman who knows he is better now. It will be a miserable season knowing what we could have been.
Maybe we have a great recruiter and a confused coach now, displaying some kind unexplained loyalty without regard for winning. I'm hoping the "losing" clears the mind for Buzz.

Again, the assumption that he is playing who he is playing out of "loyalty."

By best players you, of course, mean the three best offensive players.

Buzz has long said that he'll stay at MU as long as they'll have him. Since he's a man of his word, he's obviously trying to tank this season so that his arch nemesis (and possibly long-lost brother?), Larry Williams, fires him and then he can head to greener pastures with a clear conscience, knowing that he stayed at MU as long as they'd have him.

I'm not a "sky is falling" type person but I think we may be past the CrossRoads and we just aren't that good.

Crap. I thought this thread would be about that fantastic Brittney Spears film.

Jake is almost always where he is supposed to be on defense.  A trait that JJJ doesn't have yet.  He will eventually.
