Good come back by Jayhawks, but could not close it out. Lost 86-80.
that just sucks.
Can't let MW team beat BE preseason 1 and 2

Fixed for you
I believe that we will win.
The SDSU fans were pretty rowdy. This is basically a home-court game for them
It will essentially be a road game for MU on Sunday with a large SDSU contingent at the game. Hope they can handle the atmosphere.

As a reminder, the Honda Center seats 18,336. Fullerton's gym seats 4,000. So unless the city of San Diego decides to drive up, the home court advantage is minor, especially if Chico's better half finally unshackles him (and his significant posse).
the Aztecs looked tough tonight..., I hope they shot their wad and play down to earth Sunday.

I forgot the venue switched for Sunday. Could be less of a factor for SDSU's advantage than I thought.
Should be a good test - SDSU is gonna be a tournament team this year again.
Unrelated, but outside Tempe, ASU is really really average.
Venue should be less of a factor forsure but it is still going to be a tough game.
Is the third place game there as well?
Just wondering if there is a chance that the game may be even later than 8:30

All four games there Sunday. Championship game is 9:30 ET.

Ok thanks. So very solid chance our game probably wont begin til closer to 9 seeing as games played on same courts usually end up delayed.
San Diego State looked very long and athletic.
On D, they block lots of shots. Gardner will really have to use his body to get space, because they won't give him the easy ones. They pressure all game so Derrick, Jamil and others had better be on their games.
On O, they will jack 3s from everywhere and drive relentlessly to the hoop. They get a little sloppy and out of control at times, so I hope our lads are ready to get some steals and draw some charges.
An extremely good test. It doesn't matter that their conference says MWC. They play a top-notch brand of basketball.

I will be there. My better half might just be with me on Sunday, my son will for sure.
I would expect it to be SDSU home court advantage. The Honda Center is pretty cozy despite its capacity size. The game will be lucky to get 10,000 if I had to guess, but who knows...maybe I'll be surprised. That being said, I'd expect it to be 70% SDSU favoritism as even the locals that are not tied to SDSU directly will cheer for them.
All in all, however, I wouldn't expect it to be a sizable "home court" for them, but certainly an advantage.
It will make it a bit tougher to get grub before the game if you are planning on hitting the JT Schmids or the Catch as well, as the Aztec fans will be out at the various establishments.
Just made my pre game reservations at JT Schmids. Hope to see some Warrior faithful.

Don't fall in love with the service, its normally pretty lousy, at least for a Duck's game it is.

If you want close, then you're limited to the Catch or JTs for a "sports" type environment. JT's isn't bad, I just wanted you to be warned that at least for hockey games the service isn't great. There's a Cheesecake Factory down there, a Lazy Dog Cafe, a place called the Ranch (never been, but people like it...pricey) that are all fairly close to the Pond (Honda Center). Some folks go to Downtown Disney (expensive, not great food IMO) and then drive over.
SDSU beat Creighton but outrebounding them and turning them over. Two things I doubt they will be able to do against us. I smell another banner in the Al.
this will be a very good test to see if buzz put the fear of God in these guys since that ohio state debacle
SDSU looked good. And fearless. Ball movement was exceptional on offense. Defensively, long, extended pressure, a couple of good shotblockers. It will be a challenge.

Actually that smell is coming from the garbage, where the banner will be in a couple of years.
Any see UCLA-SDST from the Honda Center last year? SDST took over the filled building. Now, that was not in this tourney, but I would think SDST would bring twice as many fans that was at Cal. St.- Full.

Well, don't be surprised. SDSU is a big school with fans and alums all over Southern California. They will be out in force. They were lining up two hours before the game yesterday. This will be a clear SDSU advantage.

Actually, it was the Wooden Classic....not the same tournament since it really wasn't a tournament back then, but nevertheless they dominated the fan participation.

Hey SoCal, if you pre-game at the Tilted Kilt you will have a great time. It's in the Stadium Promenade very close to the Homda Center.

Looks like there is a 3 hour window between start times. 530 CT for the 3rd place game and 830 CT for the championship game.

We already did that last year. Pack the Honda Center.

Yeah, didn't think of that...though its in Orange and not Anaheim and I was trying to stick to Anaheim. Kilt is Scottish Hooters basically...there is also a Hooters around the corner from the Honda Center by Angels Stadium across the street which you could walk to.
Anaheim/Orange, no difference in this case. You could walk from the Kilt to the Honda Center. Anyhow, pretty good description except Kilt is a little higher level of food and drink. I may stop there before we tip off, time permitting. It should be a great win tomorrow night. Go Warriors!!

This is just silly.
I don't think SDSU used more than 25 seconds of the shot clock at any point against Creighton, even when they had a sizable lead late. They certainly like to run and gun. If they shoot well, we could be in trouble. If they don't, we will be in good shape.
Got to get to the rim and don't let them take it to the rim. They shot 31 free throws to Creighton's 11. Can't have that disparity, and can't let a poor free throw shooting team get that many attempts to get into a groove. They also had only 7 assists against Creighton, 8 vs. CofC, and 6 vs. Arizona. They had 14 assists vs. UC-Riverside and 14 turnovers, the only D1 game they didn't have more TOs than assists.
It sure would be nice if we could get some hoops in transition and not let SDSU's shot-blockers get set on D.
Warriors a Pick Em tonight.
Sharps already moved this to Warriors +2. Lot of SDSU $ coming in.

The site I use - Sportsbook.com opened as a pick em, now has MU +3. 87% of the action on that game is for SDSU to win straight up (money line).

I think i like the way the money is going. Nobody respecting MU in this game in Vegas. I like MU in this contest.
