Jamil, 5 pts.   Ouch.
Derrick  11 pts, 4 assists.   3-3 from the line.   What is the problem?
Juan 10 pts 9 boards
Jake 13 Pts.

34 pts from the most unappreciated guys on the team.

Strange seeing Wilson (G) outscoring Wilson (F)

Must be practicing his free throws.  Derrick was zero of the multitude of times guys got stuck in trouble and needed to be bailed out; no longer picking up his dribble.  Still room for improvement, but he's by no means a glaring weak spot based on his play this week.  The off the ball cuts to the rim have been a nice addition that suits him.

8-15 shooting 3.    The shots are starting to fall.   Come back off of the ledge.

We need them to fall against a team like Creighton.

hopefully the offense comes out ready against them. The d is definitely nothing we can't handle.

Creighton is one of the best offensive teams in the country.  OTOH, their defense is average.

The key if we meet Creighton will be our defense on them.

Agreed completely. Jamil really needs to pull his head outta his ass with the pansy fouls or McDermott will have a field day and Jamil will register 10 minutes total.

That'll be hard to do assuming (as I am) that the refs will show McDermott some deference given his status as an also most certain three year first team All-American.

I notice that all 11 guys played.  Buzz developing guys and keeping scores down.

A bit harsh on Jamil.  He had 2 real fouls today, and 2 more donated by a sub-par officiating crew.
He was not aggressive enough on O, however.

By far this was derrick's best game. The other night when he scored double figures no one was guarding him. I thought GW made a big mistake guarding Derrick 30 feet from the basket, but to DW's credit, he took advantage of it.

Love the increase in Juan's minutes lately. He is the best rebounder and hustler on the team.

Jamil was in foul trouble all game and it wasn't his fault. Refs gave him two or three that should have never been called.

Its not just the shots falling.  Derrick is no longer playing "fear ball".  He is dribbling to make the defense move.  He is dishing resulting in an easier shots for someone else.  He's making his free throws which means that teams can't just send him to the line as another way to turn the ball over.  Certainly helps when guys who are in there for 3 point shooting (ie Jake) are a threat to hit a three.
SDSU is going to be very tough in what will be effectively a home game for them.  But maybe this team plays looser on the road trying to win instead of avoid losing.
