Crean:
* Great crowd
* Didn't allow 2nd shots .. got us the win down the stretch
* DJ is big time player, enjoying every moment with him
* David Cubillan .. plays like he's 35. Smart, tough. Courageous.
* Most pleased that team bought in on how they need to play, defense, breaks, stops.
* +10 on TO margin
Lots of coach speak.
He's right on with Cubillan. When he would come in for James, Duke would pressure but Cube was too quick and very poised.
Remember how hard it was to watch when Diener would sit? So nice to have so many handles on this squad.

I've been meaning to post the same thoughts. I really enjoy watching DC run the point and love the intensity on D he brings. Most of all, I feel relieved that the days of having trouble getting the ball across half court appear to be long gone.
Last night was the first MU game I saw live all season (i'm not counting Hillsdale) and I came away very, very impressed with Cubillan. When DJ left with cramps, I was not worried at all with DC maning the point and hitting shots. DC was a GREAT under-the-radar recruit for the coaching staff! Also, I was impressed with Hayward and thought he was very active. I see Lazar starting by the conference season and being a big part of our team. I think Fitz may be best suited coming off the bench or at the 4 in place of Lott.
i see lott starting for us all year. leaving fitz and hayward on the bench gives crean a ton of versatility...either guy can play 3-4 positions. i do want to sing the praises of fitz in the duke game. barring the one time he passed up an open three in the corner, i thought he played aggressive and was realy the key once lott picked up his early fouls. he was all over the glass, with some tips and putbacks that i did not expect from him. also, i truly believe that hayward is our best rebounder, especially in traffic. unfortunately, he's not shooting very well right now - althoguh he's still not afraid to jack up a shot - but i am sure the shot will come along.
