Creighton taking ASU to the woodshed early on.
24-9
Creighton is tough if McDermott comes out firing.
him and Wragge will be a real bitch for our bigs to defend.
really wish we didn't play so damn bad vs ASU in that 1st half.
They have 3 really good players but rest just suck
ASU getting back into it. Carson is pretty good.
Creighton also did what we couldn't early
Get that big bastard in foul trouble.
Yep, their big center has been riding the pine almost the whole first half.
ASU really making a push here... Creighton is a very fun team to watch! Devin Brooks is showing his skills off as well and can shoot the rock when needed.
Creighton up 61-42 at 13:46 in 2H.
Creighton got a great draw in terms of challenging themselves too
ASU, SDSU and then possibly us.
We got f'n Fullerton, George Washington then hopefully Creighton but SDSU at least is solid too.
They got 3 solid resume games, we got 1.

Did you find enough room in Chicos' front yard to park the Harrier?
So, if we should happen to get by GWU and then meet up with Creighton, what should our game plan be?

There D is pretty poor. Basically attack.
Send Ox and Jamil at Dougy Fresh all day long.
Maybe hope Derrick/Todd/JJJ can get Gibbs and this Brooks guy some fouls as well.
Creighton looks good. The C on ASU has not been able to get going all day.
Listening on radio: these guys have some great nicknames rolling.... Wragge bomb. Harlem hangover for brooks
The one thing I'm afraid of is our starting 5 coming out the gate as slow as they usually have this year. Put us in a hole at ASU and could do the same against Creighton. Juan, Jake and Chris usually do nothing in the first 5 minutes. Hope that changes soon.

The one good thing, Wragge is their 3 point bomber. By that I mean at 6'7 he literally only takes 3's and rains them....but luckily he comes off the bench. So, as a team that historically gets rained on from 3, their best guy wont be doing it out of the gates.
But there is still that Doug guy.
ASU has a ways to go

I am not sure how his history is, but Brooks is bombing them tonight as well. He looks VERY good tonight. I believe he is at 23 for the night. Honestly, this is a team that is hard not to respect. They play hard every second. I might just need to invest in some New Years Eve tickets....I guess I can do 4 road games this year...

Brooks is listed as a Junior but no play for his soph and freshman years so he must be a JUCO transfer. Came in average just under 10 ppg before tonight.
But youre right they are a very tough team.

Yes he is a JUCO transfer from Iowa Western. He offers us something we haven't had in forever, a guard that can get to the rack. That was a fun game...

So--Creighton is a very tough team with sucky players? Interesting take.

Not sure ours is as bad as you make it out to be. CSF isn't a good team, but we get a bonus for winning a true road game. And I'm not sure SDSU is going to be any better than George Washington. SDSU is long, but losing Franklin and Tapley was huge for them. In Maurice Creek (IU) and Isaiah Armwood ('Nova), GW has two high-major former top-100 fifth year seniors leading a talented squad. It's easy to write them off based on the name, but they'll be a factor in the A-10 and it wouldn't surprise me at all if they made the dance. Don't overlook today, this could be a really tough test.

Well, we already had our shot against ASU.
I don't see how we could look past GW as they could beat us by ten or more if we show up not ready to play!

ASU on the road was a different team then the one MU played at there place. There was huge energy at ASU, none at CSF yesterday, looked like a different team, MU would beat them
on a neutral court. I was hoping to play them again, now it might be Creighton. MU might play them 4 times this year. There beatable, but you have to guard McDerrmott all over the
place, as he plays all over the place. Again, it is about scoring and MU goes as far as Jamil wants them to go. When he is making shoots the whole team is better. Just hoping each
game MU does not get to far down as I do not like the starting line-up at all. To many non-offensive players on the first 5.

That's why they aren't a top 15 team.

As Sultan has said several times---we could potentially play Creighton 5 times this year.

I agree with the offensive weakness of the starting lineup. No need to guard JA and JT is inconsistent. Against a team like Fullerton, JT should have had a field day.

Yeah, I have a feeling that ASU is going to upset a couple teams at home this year...and have some clunkers on the road.

Agree
What we don't want is ASU to go 0-3 in this tournament.
That'd hurt us unless they beat top-ranked PAC12 teams this season.

It would hurt us regardless of that they did in the Pac12. What happens in conference doesn't erase what happens in non-conference. 0-3 is still 0-3.

Shouldn't happen. They're -10.5 against Charleston tonight and would play Miami if they win, which should be a good matchup for ASU.
