There were alot of people who thought Taylor would be the most improved player this year and a starter.  He has hardly played lately and tonight has not seen the floor.  No clue.

Unfortunately I saw what I believe were two consecutive defensive mistakes.  First was a Davante switch when Steve didn't go get the other guy.  Second was a double from the baseline when he probably should have doubled from the middle.  In that case, DG gave him a WTF look.

I like Steve a lot but it's just not happening yet.

Right, Glow, defensive screwups by Steve, Jr. tonight. His minutes will continue to be limited until he can pick it up.

Correct, plus he had that surgery....there could still be some discomfort.

Look, Steve is a smart and dedicated kid.  But no doubt he's struggling right now.

100% correct.

After the second one, I yelled at the TV: "Buzz, get Taylor out of there!"

Obviously, I continue to have incredible sway!!!

Is it to early to add Dawson to the Transfer watch list as the Jamal Ferguson of 2013.

Gotta watch burton too. He may end up on the same list. McKay must have seen this coming and jumped ship early.

Might as well throw in the whole team at this rate. It's 5 games in let every settle first.

Yes, it's too early. And Burton? Seriously? He's played 8+ minutes in every game this year. Maybe we should add Duane Wilson! He hasn't played a minute yet! The writing is on the wall!

Are people really predicting transfers???? What value does that bring to the board.

Spot on in my book. Much better description of this than I gave in another thread. Hard to keep him in the game when he gives up 2 dunks in 30 seconds.

Plenty of players got dunked on last night, not just Steve.  We could have used his rebounding in the first half more.

For that matter, I don't think we'll see CO, SHEESH, Jamil or Jake next year either suitin up for the warriors

Problem is, he didn't "get dunked on" because he was nowhere near the guy he should have been guarding. There is getting dunked on, and then there is a completed defensive breakdown. Taylor was guily of the latter, twice in a minute.

+1.  And it pains me to say that.

Steve has excellent instincts and is a very coachable guy.  I guess we'll never know how much this summer's lost time had on his development but I hope and trust that Buzz is coaching him up in practice.  If we see progress this year, it'll be fine.

Steve has not had an auspicious start to his sophomore year.   IMO, that is partially due to recovery from his surgery so he is somewhat behind on his conditioning and game legs.  What was forgivable as a freshman is less forgivable as a sophomore.   He was prone to defensive lapses, but his rebounding and finishing around the basket were enough to make the MU fanbase forgive his defensive gaffes and assume he would get better.   Well, I still assume he will get better.   Right now, he is lost on defense and hasn't rebounded and scored like he did last year.   I predict by January he will be the player most assumed he would be.

I hope you're right about Steve - I think he's an important piece to the team's success this year.

Not to mention that Steve will be the only experienced "big" for next year.....

The talk of kids transferring right now are ridiculous, Burton and Taylor will probably start next year.  Need some strength inside, not sure what Pierce will bring to the table except
height.  Juan needs to show something, very thin upfront next year, like to see a JC kid with muscle vs. Malek Harris, not saying I do not like him, but why take the chance when
you need some more experience upfront.  A JC kid could step right in, and I am sure Buzz is looking.  Need another 6'8"  type player that has more weight on him then McKay, McKay
was a 3, not really a 4 or 5 type body.

Steve really needs to start showing he can defend in the post. As good as his rebounding is, he needs to be able to just be in the right position to affect shots and protect the paint. Considering that as it stands right now he's our likely starting center next year, I really hope that comes sooner rather than later.
