Deadspin had it up tonight, can't remember if this was posted. 35 million people's "likes" to produce where fans are throughout the country. Very cool. I know they did this for NCAA basketball as well.

It would be interesting to see how that map changes depending on how well teams do. Lots of bronco orange in the western plains states...might not be that dense when Peyton hangs em up?
My friend that lives in rural Montana has been a Bronco fan all her life. I think that is a pretty stable fanbase.
I think the pattern for the Steelers and the Packers is interesting-patches everywhere, plus they cover Alaska and then Pitt extends into the Carolinas in a way that surprises me. National teams.
I think my Jets have the smallest fan area. One small piece of Long Island.

yet it seems like they get a disproportionate amount of coverage by the national media.

Because that small portion of Long Island happens to be very close to Bristol, CT.
Never been to Hawaii. Perhaps someone can explain to me why that fan base supports the Steelers.

You are right and it is funny, since around here the NY media is on the Giants way more than the Jets, as the Giants have a much, much bigger fan base. The Jets have basically been in the media a lot recently because of a year of Tim Tebow and a head coach who can't keep his mouth shut.

Troy Polamalu?
I suppose, even though he's Samoan, not Hawaiian.
