People are starting to talk about JFB getting paid:

Jimmy Butler needs to get out of town.
DRose is a gimp. Hopefully, GarPax fire sales this season. Trade Deng.
If they continue to try and play without Rose, they will forever be stuck in NBA Hell, which is the worst Hell of all sports.

As much as I don't want to, I agree with this.
Some team will offer him more than $8m and he'd be smart to take it. No team with Carlos Boozer will ever win anything, so he's best to leave. I do hope he ends up with a good team, though.

And just think of all the cash they have invested in Rose. The Bulls will be riding this guy for at least two more years before they cut bait.

He restricted in 2015, and I'll venture out he will get an offer sheet from someone.

Boozer is leaving, the only question is whether they dump him after this year (utilizing the NBA's salary cap amnesty provision), or stick with him through next year. The Bulls already have Boozer's replacement stashed away in the European League.
Probably should merge this with the Derrick Rose thread as they will come together.
I think the Bulls keep paying Boozer unfortunately and bring Mirotic over next season. He'll be able to take some minutes from Boozer while adjusting to the game and Thibs.
Speaking of Thibs, if he tries blocking the fire sale, I'd encourage GarPax to show him the door. Great coach, but has to realize tanking is necessary.

I don't know if they can get both Mirotic and Boozer under the cap, especially with Dieng's contract up after this year. Boozer makes something close to 15 Million/year next year.
I predict, as the article does, that JFB stays in Chicago.
Unfortunately even if the Bulls tank this year, they have to outtank a whole lot of other awful East teams to even make it into the lottery. As past actions are indicators of future actions with Chicago GM's, the Bulls aren't going to go out and get a big name, so they'll put some stock into a Rose/Butler backcourt and hail Mirotic's arrival and a returning Rose as the key.
