Misery loves company. Perspective.
NC State loses, gets outscored 19-9 in OT.
Gtech also loses to Dayton.
We lost to a Top 10 ranked team. All of these other November defeats are genuine upsets.
Was at the game. Fun to watch such an upset when you don't have a rooting interest. Central isn't a bad team - very well coached, exceptional fundamentals, heavily favored to win the MEAC, kept their composure all game and in overtime despite losing a 7 point lead on a three pointer that forced OT. A team that came within 9 of MU last year and ended up being a great buy game with a mid-100's RPI. Ingram is a quality guard - a senior that would start for MU and a lot of high major teams this year.
I don't think most people are as upset by the loss as they are about how MU played in the loss. If MU would have played well and lost a close competitive game I doubt anyone would have been all that bothered.
Buzz called it a "debacle" on his radio show tonight.........

We were competitive for one half. We went into the locker room tied and probably should have been up at least three. Unfortunately, things came undone in the last 17 minutes.
I save the word "debacle" for our last Final Four performance.

Damn Buzz ... typical hypercritical Scooper ... so negative.
Doesn't he realize it was a November game and that he hasn't installed his offense yet?

We failed to score 20 points in either half. It was a debacle.
So we're allowed to question Buzz's choice of the word debacle, but not the starting lineup?

Why, that was against a top 3 team....not a top "10" team only based on preseason rankings. Plus 6 days earlier we had beaten the overall #1 team.
It's hard for me to get excited over that first half against OSU, that was some damn ugly bad bball by both programs.

Or the last time we played Tulsa, Western Michigan, MSU, or Stanford.

Kansas was a 2 seed, so in essence, a top 8 team, not a top 3 team. Unless you subscribe to the belief that the NCAA tournament is the only thing that determines who the best teams are (which you don't, as your correct references to "crapshoot" suggest). At any rate, it is pointless to debate which loss was uglier. Against Kansas, we were beaten midway through the 1st half, while against Ohio State I wasn't convinced the game was lost until about 8 minutes to go in the game. But OSU was at home. But Kansas was a much bigger stage. You could go on all day. Suffice to say they were both miserable.
I do agree 100% with "It's hard for me to get excited over that first half against OSU, that was some damn ugly bad bball by both programs."

Jamal Ferguson ended up at NC Central...and in this sweet team picture!

I would have been more upset over a close loss, but less worried about the future.

Dayton result shouldn't surprise anyone as they will dominate the A-10 this year, the best conference in college basketball.
Gottfried was looking so good there for a little bit.
