A show like this should never make it to air. It will undoubtedly be horrible television.

Why do I get the feeling that they will portray the Dwyane/Siovaughn relationship more like a Fred Sanford/Aunt Esther thing?

I wouldn't be so dismissive. The conclusion of the 2003 Season would make a fine Greek Tragedy. The Protagonist is a farcical character guilty of outrageous sins without seeing just how fatuous, venal, and arrogant he has been. The narrative includes elements of love defiled, searing loss, prodigious hubris, vanquished hope, pretensions of honor, and an injudicious abuse of power. Not only are the relationships between men torn asunder by the Protagonist's flagrancy but his arrogance calls forth the wrath of the Gods who cast his tribe from the summit to the wasteland of a far lesser world. The people wander aimlessly in exile for five years before a Messiah arrives to offer redemption through iron discipline, intense effort, and personal integrity.
Through the catharsis of betrayal and defeat the hero recognizes he must escape the reprehensible influence of the Protagonist and emerges a better man for the experience. I think if properly written this story would make Aeschylus and Euripides weep.
Well, I'm off to the mall to purchase a few pairs of D Wade socks.....

Why would a Curly Howard character be in a sitcom about Wade? Oh, that's right. He wouldn't.
QuoteThe show is described as Wade and "his entourage of eccentric friends"
I hope Robert Jackson plays himself.
Pee Wee Herman as the departed makes total sense.
Wade's wearing a Haji Scarf!

Clearly a case of not knowin' what to do with all his money.
That's a poorly knotted necktie, probably from his upcoming DW collection.
I think I had that denim blazer with the zipper pockets back in 1978. He is missing the matching disco hat, though.

Just like Laverne and Shirley happened by with the Fonz....it's all television Lenny, the stuff you despise as overpriced. DWade takes a trip down memory lane in Milwaukee and runs into Curley Howard....yeah, that would be impossible to see in a sitcom. I can find 1000's of things in sitcoms more preposterous, starting with Fonz on waterskis jumping a shark.

Then it just didn't make any sense at all.
Sure it did....you have to think about television shows, where characters \ celebs \ athletes make guest appearances as themselves, or better yet as someone totally different but you know who they are.
Especially sitcoms. You guys aren't thinking very hard.
When they don't play themselves, then it becomes funny. When they play themselves, becomes pretty corny (e g Don Drysdale in Brady Bunch or Pat Ewing in Webster). It's better when they play someone else like LJ playing Grandmama in Urkel, Roger Clemens in Kingpin (very good), Alex Karras in Blazing Saddles, etc, etc

Rog was in Kingpin, too? Or are you just thinking of him in Dumb and Dumber?
What about Ken Griffey Jr in Little Big League? I thought he was excellent.

Technically, Kareem wasn't playing himself. He was playing a character named Roger Murdoch.
Besides, if we want to talk about Kareem's film career, let's not forget his epic karate battle with Bruce Lee. Cinematic brilliance:

Kareem's second best role (number one is Airplane) is the homeless guy in The Stand!
M. O. O. N. That spells Kareem.
