Is she there? Recap?
She is, but she was busy coding the website while also picking office furniture, so difficult to recap.
Final.
Could have had 4 or 5. Scoreline flattered DePaul. Very impressive performance by the ladies.

A topic beaten to death on this site? What an upset!
She basically was speaking commish, what you would expect of a commissioner. Thought we could compete for a soccer national championship this year or in years to come. Looking forward to basketball just getting started. Hectic start, a lot of work to be done, etc, etc.
Val is on TV now presenting the trophy.
36-6 shots on goal.
Congrats to the champions.
Marquette flat out dominated. The score could have easily been 5-0. Very cold but I have some decent pictures if I can ever figure out how to upload them.
Congrats to the girls. Great win and good luck at NCAA!!!

Great day. Fun to be there. Congrats to having a big east championship team!

You think they get #1 seed when bids come out tomorrow? Think they have a chance at it.

I don't think so. I think it hurt that Georgetown lost in the semifinal. I haven't seen how the acc and other conferences went this weekend. Marquette is ranked really high rpi wise but I think needed some help across the country too

Melissa and Chico's
Probably right but will be watching closely tomorrow afternoon.
Congrats to the ladies of Marquette soccer. Doing all of us proud

RPI #1 Virginia lost to #10 Va Tech in the ACC semifinals, and #5 Florida State won the championship game after beating #2 UNC in the semifinals.
#4 UCLA finished the Pac12 season 8-0-1, no tournament for them, apparently.
#7 Nebraska won the Big 10 title, beating the #42 Iowa team that knocked #6 Michigan out in the first round and #9 Penn State in the semifinals.

aren't the ladies ranked around 17 nationally? That might get them a 4 seed at best.
Ranked as high as #11 currently.

Depends what poll youre looking at. RPI plays a much bigger factor in soccer then it does for basketball. Im gonna guess 3 seed.
is the selection show televised anywhere?

Not that I can find.

Nope. Same thing for the men's show next week Monday.
2 seed for Marquette. Congrats to the team.
Looks like ND in 2nd round.

Might be Saturday. Bracket lists everyone as on the 15th, but the round headings say 15th/16th.
As someone who's busy on Friday night, but not Saturday after the Ohio State game, I definitely have my preference.
Heard Friday at 7pm sounds like when 1st round will happen.
Yeah hopefully will be a very busy next few weeks with the men's soccer and womens volleyball teams also set to make the ncaa tourneys
The only two Wisconsin representatives are from Milwaukee?
Nice.

If MU gets past WMU, who presents the more favorable matchup: Iowa or ND?

Easily Iowa. The ACC is just loaded ND finished 6th in conference but the top 4 teams in the ACC are all 1 seeds.
In watching the game yesterday on tv they did a quick pan and there looked like a large building was under construction with a large crane, etc. What building is that and where is it being built? Looked like 20+ stories if I had to guess. White building
I saw ND play earlier this year and they will be tough out. Fortunately if we do meet it will be in Milwaukee.

Iowa...ND has our number in too many sports. No thank you.

If I had to guess its probably the new hotel their adding on to Pottawatomie. My window faces right at it so I see the progress every day.

Yup, that has to be it. I didn't see anything else in the background so it wasn't like it was part of the city skyline....it looked very close by but couldn't figure out what on earth they would be building down there. Now it makes some sense.

Thanks to Tom Crean's generous donations to the soccer programs, those are the luxury boxes they're building for the new soccer stadium.

Wow, that really stinks especially with that seed. Bummer
Bummer, especially after running the table in conference. Looks like all of the other high seeds have been winning their first round matches with ease. Was their keeper injured? Saw from the box score she wasn't in net for the first time all season, suppose that can mess with a team's psyche.

Different keeper or not you cant win when you dont score. Extremely disappointing game.
Western did a very good job of packing things in and frustrated the Warriors. MU had three solid chances to score in 2nd half and game away empty. Not sure if they looked past this game or not, but definitely a disappointing finish.

Amanda Engel was out with an injured wrist...but the goal, on WMU's only SOG I think was a sweet one. WMU always pressed out and chased the ball to take away space and MU never really pushed the advantage effectively except for a brief spurt to start the 2nd. Definitely tentative, and mid field play was allowed to be physical which was not to MU's strength. Real disappointing. In the post game video, Markus is a beaten man.
That said, I think this was a case of the new conference and scheduling working against MU. A lot of cupcakes on the second half of the schedule so MU seemed to look past WMU to ND. Way too tentative. In the past, I think MU recruited to play well in the BE to make the NCAA...they may have to step up that effort to recruit and schedule well late to win in the NCAA.
Needless to say, these past two teams were MU's best ever. Congratulations on a great run!
UCLA won the title today (110th all time) over Florida State. 2 seed over 1 seed.
