Where was the 77 pic? As noted in that pic below, it's not with the rest. That surprised me.
It's next to the retired numbers like the old one was. I think they put it over there so it's next to Al and Hank but I do think it would look better on the other side.
Here's a photo I took at the game.
If we ever won both the Big East regular season title and tournament title I wonder how they would differentiate on the conference banner.
Didn't there used to be a CUSA 2003 banner??

Great Midwest, CUSA
It's all about Buzz now
I think it's stupid that we aren't honoring our 94 or 03 regular season championships the same as the BE one. I understand they weren't on quite the same level but given where our program was respectively I think they should all be honored on the same banner or each have their own.
Did we finally get rid of the catholic invitation champs banner?
The new banners look sharp! Clear to read.
74 was runner up. That's worlds away from getting rolled by Kansas.
Very stupid to do a solo big east banner if we won't do a solo 1994, 1997 or 2003 banner.
God I hope that Catholic banner travesty is gone.
Big East banner will be up for a year and then taken down.
I'm fine with a one year celebration.
I was talking to PTM and he believes the individual 2013 will only be up for this year. I like that idea. Then if they win it next year take the 2013 down and put up 2014.
Way to steal my thunder jerk.
I'm ok with that plan.
Plus it gives them a banner to auction off online at the end of the year and make some money off of.

Agree with this, I'm fine if just for one year and after that it joins the others years on the conference champs banner.
However, I agree with others, that if it's a long-term thing then I think that is disrespecting some of the past teams that other mentioned. If the previous coach did something like that he would be crucified for it and I think Buzz/the currrent admin should be as well if that's the case. However, hoping PTM is right and it's just for this year. That would be a pretty good idea.

It is already listed on the conference championships banner.
Anybody have video of the banner raising ceremony? I didn't get to my seat until intros.
You didn't miss anything. Mike J announced the accomplishment for last year then they dropped the garbage bag black tarp that was draped in front of the banner.
Muathletics may have the video on YouTube shortly.
Did they leave room in the rafters for the "Wooden Legacy" banner?

Thanks, couldn't tell from the pictures. That definitely supports the idea that it will only be up for this season.

That would be the DIRECTV Wooden Legacy

That will cost you extra for that ad insert...you see, MU actually has a marketing plan. ;)
They appear to be matching pairs with the banners hanging in the Al McGuire Center arena.

Two less technical fouls and we might have won it.
David Thompson was a beast that year for NC State.
So with the redesign, does the 77 banner no longer have "Warriors" on it? I think that was the last remaining MU-sanctioned material with the better nickname. They could definitely make a crap-ton on it if they decide to put it up for auction.

The last 1977 banner I saw hung in the Bradley Center was not the original. The original was hung in the Arena in late November 1977 and was kinda mediocre in terms of its design elements. I recall the word Warriors was in quotes, aka, "Warriors." I think the sign said Marquette University "Warriors" 1977 NCAA Champions.
Anyone know what happened the original?
Probably in storage next to the Blueteaux costume.
The only question I have is whether TC indeed hung a banner for their reg-season B10 championship

This was before my time, but is this the banner that was shown in HoopDreams? I seem to remember it having a different design in the movie than what it had recently.
