I was wondering if anyone has heard if they plan to raise the BEast championship banner tonight? I spoke with Paul McInerny about 3-4 weeks ago when we were last in the Al and he didn't know the specifics at that time. I also hope they incorporate 'Big East Champion' language into their pregame. It is no small accomplishment and should be appropriately celebrated at each game this season.
Will be curious to see when Georgetown raises their share of the flag and if Louisville will even have a ceremony.
They can't claim "Big East Champion", since that distinction is reserved for the winner of the Big East Championship, the tournament. They can claim "Big East Regular Season Champions" and deceptively omit the "Co-" to make it sound better.

Yup. The 2013-14 Media Guide lists Louisville as the sole champ. Though we could raise a "mentioned 22 times on national television last year" banner, similar to the one that VCU has.

"Final National Ranking: 11" And make one of the 1's blend in with the background.

I assume there will be a Big East Regular Season Champions banner raised at some point. I wouldn't be surprised to see a ceremony on 1/4 before the conference opener.
"Regular season" championship banners have been done before...

It wasn't quite that bad, but they did have a "2011 Final National Ranking #6" banner.

That's pretty embarrassing for a school that has actually played some pretty good basketball in the past few years. What AD would ever think that's a smart move?
Sidenote- if anyone ever gets a chance to check out a game at the Siegel Center (VCU's stadium), definitely go check it out. They pack it in there, and they're fans are pretty intense. Well worth the time if you're in the area.

So much for acting like you've been there before.

The Cardinals do have something else to celebrate, though...
