How can anyone look at this highlight reel and not be dumbfounded at Duane Wilson's skill-set and talent?
Watching this video I see a kid with Derick Rose/Penny Hardaway like talent that can take anyone off the dribble and finish at the rim with monster dunks. He can also nail the 3, pass well and defend.
Of course years ago an inferior talent like Sebastian Telfair played in NYC and a couple famous rappers liked him so he becomes a burger boy and later a total NBA bust. If Duke recruits a kid he then is considered a top 25 player (even Wojo)......smallish Tyus Jones in this year's class has 1/2 the talent and potential Duane Wilson has and yet is considered the 4th best player by ESPN???? ?-( :'(
Get Duane healthy and back soon (as soon as he is ready).....he and JuJuan Johnson will be our best penetrators on the team who can break down anyone off the dribble and create open looks for themselves or others. Hopefully he stays and plays his junior year with Diamond Stone as that will be fun to watch..... maybe the best outside player and the best inside player in college basketball lead us to our 3rd national title (our 2nd being this year).

He does put a lot on tape; but that's a high school bball video. His confidence was likely off the charts playing against those folks. I do think he will be end up being a great warrior, but I'm not sold just by him crossing up a few tiny ass lower level traditionals. Love the left handed finishes and shooting stroke though.

You certainly deserve an award for truth in advertising for your handle, you silly homer, you. Duane is and will continue to be a very nice player, and perhaps will become even more, but I think that your evaluation of Duane and the McDonald's All-American judges contains a bit of hyperbole.
You will have to forgive SofS for his over-exuberance. He posted at 1:30 this morning. He was obviously hopped up on Halloween candy and spiked apple cider.
No doubt the guys that actually did make the McD's team all had substandard highlight videos.
Duane would not of beat Derrick out at point, so there is no way he was a McDonald's all-american.

That's not your son, is it WC?
I'm excited about Wilson as well, but they play a soft schedule compared to these prep school kids on the coasts. Although I do agree ESPN wants to load rosters with Duke, Carolina, Kansas, etc. recruits...all about viewers.

I know he reads Scoop, but I don't know if he posts. And it doesn't sound like a user name he would pick.
He would never riff off the original Sultan. He would choose something unique.

I guessed as much.
Just having a little fun. Your post sounded a bit like a helicopter mom (I am pretty sure you're not one though).
DRUNK!!!! If you are going to North Carolina, Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, Florida, or Arizona you are an All-American. Judges are freakin' drunk. Think the NCAA is biased towards these teams also. Payoffs.
Hate all-star games.

I have learned that sometimes the best policy with one's college-age kids is "Don't ask, don't tell", especially when it comes to their social life. If they are keeping their grades up, I pretty much leave them alone.

I'm with you, chick. The proverbial parental hay is mostly in the barn by our kids college years. Time to observe from a safe distance, root like crazy and pray that when they do stupid things they're not also unlucky.
