May just be another ho-hum analysis of the squad, but very positive that another national outlet feels compelled to write about Marquette. Keep that brand trending up!!
I have no idea what this means or even what Buzz is really trying to say:
''The best anecdote for the league change is for Marquette to win,'' coach Buzz Williams said.
Anybody?

Antidote.

Antidote.
That's what I thought, too. Either Buzz said the wrong word or the writer misheard him. But even subbing that in -- "The best antidote for the league change is for Marquette to win" -- doesn't make much sense.
Not really important, although the writer apparently thought it important enough to make it the first quote he used.

It's like John Madden used to say; "Don't worry about the horse being blind, just load the wagon."

The new Big East isn't as good as the old one. That's an upsetting situation to some. Win and everyone forgets about it. Antidote.

Yup, hit it spot on.
As long as we're fixing typos, I assume the title to this thread should read "MU team to BEAT", not BEST.

I have no idea what you just said, but it doesn't sound good.

It's like John Madden used to say; "Don't worry about the horse being blind, just load the wagon."
Or as George Thompson used to say, "That's as useless as socks on a rooster."
He means the best antidote to the uncertainty of the conference situation is for Marquette to be a good team. As long as Marquette keeps winning games they're going to continue to attract recruits no matter what conference they're in or who is in that conference. JT3 said a similar thing at the beginning of realignment.
Having experienced Buzz's "we are not very good" schtick on several occasions, it would not surprise me at all if he meant the word "anecdote."
While it probably wouldn't be proper usage, I think Buzz was indicating that if Marquette is being considered a league favorite, that is probably the best indication that the league has definitely changed.
In other words, it is comical to Buzz that Marquette is the league favorite. It shows that the league definitely is not what it was.
Anyway, that was what I took from it. Buzz tends to be self-deprecating and tends not to talk about "potential winning." Given the nature of the article, it makes sense. The "antidote" also makes sense.
