Good stuff - Part 1:

Hell of a backsplash.
I love Buzz's backstory. I've gotten to the point, however, that I can almost tell the story for him. The only new detail given in this 17 minute interview is the 'Year 2' aspect of getting a long distance card, a gas card, and an office. I would like to hear him speak about arriving at MU, the year as an assistant, and transitioning to the boss. I would like to hear about lessons he learned at his other stops on the journey.

This is part one of the interview. I'm sure he'll get to all of that.

Yeah that was the first thing I noticed too. Awesome.
Think that the interview was at Buzz's house? If so I'm loving that school spirit in the back.

It's his stump speech. He isn't dumb.
3:40 in part 2, guy just rips one.

Was that Buzz or Rav? That had some juice to it

It is great, but if we had a "brand manager" type they'd scream it wasn't "brand compliant." The dimensions are off!

Self deprecating is rarely dumb. Braggadocio often is.

I'm leaning Rav, he gets fidgety prior to the contamination.

Self deprecating can also be a learned behavior by many sophisticated people trying to make others think they are just one of the peeps. There are classes taught on it to help managers, leaders, etc, better relate to their subordinates, make them look more real, more human. Politicians do it all the time.
He isn't dumb, it works for him. What I admire about Buzz most is his self discipline, and that's what I meant by the stump speech. He doesn't veer off course. There's a reason why all of us can probably give it line and verse, because he is disciplined and gives the same presentation. Most people aren't that disciplined, but he has perfected it. He isn't dumb.

TC is a guy who would take that course. Buzz doesn't need to, it's who he is. You keep repeating that Buzz isn't dumb as if it's some great insight. Who doesn't know that?
