Nice to see all of the Big East history included.  I wonder what the AAC media guide looks like?

Anyone else notice that the cover pic for the "2012-2013 In Review" (p. 69) is from 2011?  Nice shout out for Buycks and JFB, though.

Buzz is already 18th on the all time Big East coaches win list. 4th if you sort by winning percentage. (Page 99)

Looking at the stats and we had the second highest free throw percentage and Davante was 4th overall. Not bad for a team who doesnt practice free throws  ;)

Murderer's row on that Big East presidents page. Wouldn't want to get in a fracas with that bunch.

Major quibble on page 132:  BE players in the NBA.

No mention of Dwyane Wade, but Creighton, Butler and Xavier have players listed who also never played a BE game -- including Kyle Korver, who played in college the same time as Wade.

Sans gold vest, but i like it none the less.

Also, LW looks like a fat Woody Harrelson on page 11.

The media guide lists our game at Xavier as January 8th but previous schedules show 1/9

edit: just noticed they got it right on the composite schedule

Nice guide.

Page 69 is the "2012-2013 In Review"...  it's great that they used an MU-Providence image, but kind of funny that it's Buycks and Jimmy in the picture.

A photo of the bat would be an appropriate MU-Providence image from last year.

Its because when Wade was here we werent in the Big East. The same reason they only have one year of stats for Novak.

Which would be perfectly fine, but why are these guys part of the list?

Jordan Crawford Xavier (2009-10) Atlanta Hawks
Gordon Hayward Butler (2008-10) Utah Jazz
Kyle Korver Creighton (1999-2003) Atlanta Hawks
Shelvin Mack Butler (2008-11) Atlanta Hawks
Anthony Tolliver Creighton (2003-07) Charlotte Bobcats
David West Xavier (1999-03) Indiana Pacers

And "player" would be a stretch when he never played a game:
Ricky Ledo Providence Dallas Mavericks

And also, why doesn't Jimmy Butler have the (+) denoting a first round draft pick?

Another also, why is Otto Porter, who is a rookie this year listed when Dwight Buycks, who also has a guaranteed contract isn't?

Boooooooooooo, boooooooo page 132, booooooooo.

And Quentin Richardson, DePaul (1998-2000).  Honestly, he's the most "similar" to Wade because he's from a school that entered the Big East at the same time as Marquette.  The others are all from the new schools, so someone could surmise that they decided to treat the new schools differently in the media guide.  Doesn't make sense to me, but that could explain it.  But DePaul entered the conference when Marquette did, so I can't think of any reason to include Richardson who was pre-Big East, but not Wade.

Speaking of the AAC.  UConn had their version of midnight madness last night but instead of a 3-pt & dunk contest they broke up the men's and women's teams into two coed teams and had a scrimmage.

Does Marquette really have exactly 12,000 students?

THIS needs to be forwarded to the Big East.

IF the goal is to promote the history of the Big East AS WELL AS its current members, Wade should be there.
Players who have been signed by NBA teams should be there. Understably, non-drafted FAs might not have made the printing deadline; yet, they can ALWAYS revise the Media Guide.

Do people actually read the media guide? Do fans outside the BE read it? Did you read the PAC12 media guide this year?

And listing players that never played a second in the BE is JV at best and Bush League at worst. It would make more sense to list the NBA players of teams that left the BE (but at least played in the conference) than it would listing players that never participated.

Meh - disagree. It should be players who played on teams in the current Big East that have appeared in games in the NBA.

I was just proving a point. I agree with you.

I also think the records should be cleaned up. Players of teams that are no longer in the conference shouldnt hold the records (it kind of goes in line with not recognizing players of teams no longer in the conference that got drafted and played in the NBA).

Disagree. Teams leave conferences all the time and I don't know of any conference that does it this way. Conference records are for players who were playing in that conference at the time. Pretty standard

Should Cy Young be removed from the record books because he played for the Cleveland Spiders?
