2009 wing player
NICE!! What does this do to Wilson's decision?
93rd ranked player by Rivals in the class of 2009. Not sure what this means with respect to the recruitment of Wilson, but I tend to think that a bird in hand is yada yada yada especially when it comes to these rankings. So much can change and have an effect on them. I trust Crean's judgment and like that we have another early commit. It would be nice to follow that up with some 2008 commits now!

Maybe by the scouting services, but to play at the next level he's going to have be a 3 and that kind of thing factors into recruiting all the time.

Erik Williams Voted Best 7th Grade Basketball Player In Cypress-Fairbanks ISD
Congratulations goes out to Erik Williams (#9) for being voted as the "Most Valuable Player" in 7th grade for the Cypress-Fairbanks ISD on May 6, 2004. Erik, along with his right hand man, Larry Johnson (#23 for the 7th grade Jaguars), led Thornton Middle School to the district championship. Erik has worked really hard at becoming the best he can be and this award is very special because it shows how all the hard work can pay off. We appreciate how well Erik works on the basketball court, but his hard work in the classroom is second to none. Erik has also maintained a 3.5 grade point average while being very active in basketball and football. Erik will attend the Adidas Junior Phenom Camp in August along with teammates Curtis McGregor (#2), Dexter Pratt (#25), and Joshua Lipscomb (#1).
Congratulations, Erik!!!!

It's kind of a foreign concept for us, minus DW, but there's a good chance Wilson would only be a 2 year player at MU. Having quality depth at the 3-4 spot is nice to have.
Awesome - sounds like a great recruit - Scholarship table updated

Just realized the JS has some more info on Erik - another good read if you're not so familiar with him...

But for MU the '4' plays more in more of a wing position than a power position underneath so it really shouldn't be an issue

Why do you say that? I don't know a lot about the kid, so I'm interested in why you think he could be two-and-out.

Bingo. He is a player, and has the right combination of size, skill, and athleticism for the NBA game.
